View Full Version : display width on boxes
August 11th, 2013, 09:09 AM
The side boxes on the left are too wide, and they are crowding the forum column on the right. Can't have it. It is not displaying properly. Worked FINE before the upgrade.

Would you please post a url so I can properly comment. The sidebar width is most definitely still set under sidebar options in admin.

It did NOT do this before the upgrade.

Interesting your cat names are real long and we have not changed anything so not sure what version you went from. You can send an admin login through the contact us link for me to check things out if you want.
Turn off your random image pal under sidebar options as a result do things display correctly? What I am seeing is the information your trying to display is too wide for the page so your page scrolls.

My forums are identical. Look at my account and you'll see what versions I have had.
I would like the random image box narrower. (gone is okay to) I do NOT want to lose the search box under ANY circumstances, and my suspicion by looking at the display is that if you turned off random images on the left, it would still look boogered up due to the search box which is also wide. I'll send login info thru the contact thing.

I see nothing wrong on my clean install so I will check out our Helpdesk for a login

I sent you the info you wanted in the form. Why don't you just login as you requested?

I replied saying I would look at it when I checked the helpdesk and saw your login. I was not in the office at the time.
I have removed the category name which helps the issue some but it is interesting to note that the behavior I am seeing does not happen on any other stylesheet that you not edited like the one your using. The scrolling and such behavior I am seeing happens because of the changes your making to the stylsheet. You can see how things are different by changing your stylesheet under layout optons and see how things snap into the window display.

Thanks chuck :-)

Yeah for any other display issues where I would start to look at is the CSS you altered in that light.CSS stylesheet. Removing the cat name helped remove a lot of the overhang but that CSS you added does push things a bit right which is what I originally posted. Your fonts I believe are a little bigger than normal so I would suspect some of those declarations under your custom body code etc helped add to things. You might also want to check out the new non forum cat list Style where we show the cat list in the sidebar if you have never tried that before. Not sure what version you where running before.

Do you have a link to a forum running that style? "new non forum cat list Style where we show the cat list in the sidebar if you have never tried that before."

Yes the fonts I believe they did enlarge some from a normal install.
