View Full Version : Small Pic Alignment in page
June 1st, 2013, 08:16 PM
When we upload pictures smaller than a certain size to the gallery, we get a misalignment. I saw a few and thought it was just an random thing but it's a pattern that's always the same with small pic below a certain (?) size. Is this how it's meant to be, is there something wrong with our settings, or any other advice? It looks pretty strange, although everything still works as it should.

Certainly is weird indeed only happens with a small image. What happens with the tagging turned off. Just taking a guess here.

How do I turn the tagging off Chuck? Is there an Admin setting? I can't see one.

yes in admin options in the admin panel.
Enable Photo Tagging?

Your guess was correct Chuck. With the tagging turned off it goes back to normal. The page looks a lot better too because that big left hand tag margin disappears.
Another question related to tagging - does the owner of the picture get a notification of each tag that is placed? I placed a few then stopped because people were getting emails and I felt like I was spamming them.

yes they do get an email that someone has placed a tag on there photo and to approve it or not.

What are the advantages of tagging? Do they come up in search results?
We couldn't go back through 70,000 photos now and tag. It would be overwhelming for people getting the approval requests. We could just allow it to happen in a small way from now on but I'm not sure how useful it really is in our circumstances.
If tagging is going to muck up our small pictures, maybe we should just leave it off.

No the concept of tagging is what people are use to in facebook you can name places people objects in a photo. In essence tag a portion of the picture.
