View Full Version : vBSEO conflict?
March 19th, 2013, 07:17 PM
Ever since we have upgraded to vBSEO 3.6.1 we receive a DB error when clicking the "New Likes Received" link in the toplinks menu:
MySQL Error : Table 'xxxxcom_pp.user' doesn't exist
Error Number : 1146
Request Date : Wednesday, March 20th 2013 @ 09:04:55 AM
Error Date : Wednesday, March 20th 2013 @ 09:04:55 AM
Script : http://www.xxxx.com/forum/member.php?u=1&tab=likes_received
Referrer : http://www.xxxx.com/forum/index.php
Classname : vB_Database
vBSEO support asked me to post here, as xxxxcom_pp.user refers to our PP installation. Any idea why the New Likes notification would call our PP tables?

Personally no I have no idea what new likes is.
If new likes is a hack I would think your issue is that hack.
The point is there are no issues here with vbulletin or photopost which is what we support. We make no claims of integration with vbseo or any other hack.
My only suggestion is maybe try upgrading to photpost 8.3 RC1 and redo your plugins see if that helps any as I did lots of work to the plugins in that new version.

The New Likes Received are an integral part of vBSEO's likes system. I see if the upgrade will solve the issue.
Much appreciated, Chuck!

It is a VBSEO thing got it.
Yeah I can only suggest that to try as your issue seems to be in when installing vbseo you get that conflict. There is not an issue between our product and vbulletin.

So I have experimented a bit: with PP integration disabled, no DB errors occur. Once enabled any click on the 'Likes Received/Likes Given' link in the toplinks menu or in the user profile triggers them again:
MySQL Error: Table 'xxxxcom_pp.user' doesn't exist
There must be some misreference, as there is no 'user' table in PP, but clearly in vB. I'm turning in circles here...

I understand what your saying here. vbSEO codes there product to work with vbulletin. We code our product to work with vbulletin. There are no errors using either product with vbulletin. The issue only happens when both are installed together I get that.
I gave you a suggestion to try but thats about as far as I can go here. Your asking me to provide support for vbSEO. Your error has to do with a query issued by vbSEO. I have no idea how there product works or the coding of such a product so I can not assist you in altering there code to work.
The reason I suggested you try our new 8.3 RC1 and redo your plugins is because at the bottom of every plugin of ours I included mysql connection strings to connect back to the forum database so the last open mysql connection is not the gallery.
See you have no problems with our program it works fine and so does your forum. The problem is vbSEO is issuing queries in there code without even knowing where they are at. They could easiest issue a mysql connect but they do not. That is what they should do.
I can not speak on there coding so all I can do is suggestions. ;)
Did you do what I suggested because I would think that would help you?

Thanks Chuck, you've been very helpful already.
I have updated to 8.3 RC1, but the issue persists. I will take this up with vBSEO once again, but my last ticket hasn't been answered in over three days. ;)

yeah if your trying using the new plugin I do not see how thats possible. You are sure you selected to OVERWRITE any previous templates plugins right?
See at the bottom of the member page plugins you see this
$vbhost = $vbulletin->options['vbhost'];
$vbuser = $vbulletin->options['vbuser'];
$vbpass = $vbulletin->options['vbpass'];
$dbname2 = $vbulletin->options['db2'];
$link = mysql_connect ("$vbhost", "$vbuser", "$vbpass") or die('I cannot connect to the database.');
mysql_select_db ("$dbname2")or die("Could not select forum database");
So my question would be how are they issuing a query against the photopost database.
If you can not get a satisfactory answer from them you could stop the issue by simply copying your photopost tables into your forum database and them updating your photpost config changing the database to the forum database and redoing your plugins once again. Then everything is in one database and the issue would not be possible.

Yes, I made sure to select the overwrite option when I upgraded.
I'll refer them to this thread and see what they say. Much appreciated!

Yeah clearly our plugin makes sure the vb database is the open connection after the plugin just in case.
