View Full Version : Flash Uploader not working for some members

I have a very strange situation where the flash uploaded option is not working for some members. When you select upload it does not show the normal select files option.
This is what I have tried using Firefox.
1. I can upload no problems on my admin account so it is not a browser problem.
2. Log in as the member now I cannot see the select files option.
3. Change members permissions to the same as what I have (admin) still cannot see the select files option. So it does not seem like it is a permission issue
4. Change PhotoPost not to use flash upload and now those members that could not upload before see the select files options one below each other. So this tells me again it is not a permissions issue.
I have tried all the above on Opera and Google Chrome with the same results.

what happens on IE and Mozilla? You say it is not a browser issue but your only noting two browsers in your post which are known to not support alot of java or flash. In fact Chrome is a very basic browser with not alot of support for most things. No rss etc etc.
We have no control over the flash upload code or its compatibility which is why it is an option with a yes no switch in upload options.
You would have to list specific urls logins for us to see your site. We have been very vocal from day one on this third party script. I can offer advise here or there but compatibility with every site is not guaranteed. Like we know this feature does not work at all when mod security is enabled on a server.

Chuck I have tried it with IE, Opera, Chrome and Firefox and it does the same thing. It just does not make sense as it is member related.
Using any of the above browsers I can log in with one users profile and it will work with the flash. I then log in with another user and it will not work with flash but will work with the normal upload. I will make sure that that users profile is setup exactly the same as a user that it does work with as well.
I will setup an admin for you and PM you the details as well as the info for the one user that it does not work for

My suggestion would be maybe refresh usergroups in edit usergroups and set permissions thats the only suggestion I can make as that is the only usergroup permission in our software to whether someone can upload or not.
There is no specific permission set in our software for flash.
You can send specific information to the contact us link in our site.

I am not sure what that comment means. I have stated a couple times that if you want me to look at your site I would need to see the problem and have all site info. I see no information in our helpdesk from you so I can not assist without this.
