View Full Version : Link to images

After choosing to view an album (mysite.com/showgallery.php?cat=...) and hovering over the thumbnails I can see where the thumbs are pointing (mysite.com/showphoto.php?photo=...). Where is this link created (please specify the file and eventually around what line of code is the link generated)? I am running Photopost Pro 7 if it matters at all. I need to change this link and I am really stuck at this point. Any hints/tips will be much appreciated.

I am not really sure what your expecting to change. If you view any link on an html page hovering over it your going to see where the link points to that can not be changed. I mean on this very forum go to any link forum or gallery you hover over the link your going to see where the link goes.
You can check in pp-inc.php in the function get_imagethumb to see how thumbnails and there links are generated.

I think I should explain in more details what I am after. I customized my Photopost application in such a way that after registration (through some cPanel scripting I added to the profile.tmpl) the first time the user logs in and clicks on Profile a new folder (and a subdomain) is created in the "data" folder inside Photopost and a number of Photpost files are copied inside that folder (pp-inc.php, showgallery.php, showphoto.php and few others). The purpose is to give the user a customizable page (driven by the subdomain created). I also write inside the above mentioned files the relevant information about the user (username, userid) needed to generate the page locally. So every member registered on my site will have its own page (member.domain.com) and all images will be displayed through this new URL. I successfully changed the way the system is generating the profile page, gallery page etc (by setting new rules for various a href statements) in order to fit my needs; the only standing issue being the one I pointed in my first posting . Please follow this link: LiveFolio (http://livefolio.com/folios/data/webs/member/showgallery.php?cat=560), than click on one of the images and check again the URL. You end up navigating away from the member's site right back into the main domain. I would like to have the images to be displayed inside my member's site rather than the main domain. This is the link I referred too. I managed to find and change accordingly the link from the image title (go back to the URL specified above and click on the image title - the image will be displayed inside the member's site/subdomain and not in the main domain). I need to have identical behaviour when clicking on the thumbnail. I know it may sound like a mod question but really what I need is just the location of that link so I can modify it.

Well remember the links defined for clicking anything in the application is determined by the settings in the admin panel. The application is always going to go to our scripts. If your doing something different in your modifications you would need to continue those modifications.. Our application would be run from this directory and you can mask things however you want but thats how it works.

As I stated where we generate the thumbnails and there links are in our global file pp-inc.php in the function get_imagethumb and get_thumbtmpl
For the link you need to modify the later function.

Great - get_thumbtmp it was! I changed it accordingly and now it works perfect. Found another issue though - the Show EXIF Info link is not working anymore. From what I can understand this is a java script. Where is this script called and what shall I change to make it display the exif info in the new location I have (same as above for the thumbs link)?

I really could not tell you how to do whatever your doing. We support our code how we release it.

I customized Photopost quite extensively, so I understand your point. Thank you very much for the rest of the stuff anyway.

Yeah I can not say what your doing so hard to say. I can merely tell you where in our code functions etc are.

That is in fact what I need to know about the exif link - where is it in the code and the url used to display the exif table (also in the code). The rest of it I can take care of. So if you could provide this information would be perfect.
