View Full Version : Problem with upload
June 15th, 2011, 01:57 PM
Ok I have gone through most of the similar issues here but none of them seem to help in my case.
I and the mebers cannot upload photos. And by upload I do not mean bulk upload or many images or large images. I have problems uploading one image of 3mb, as well as one image of 40kb so it doesn't look like it's a matter of memory or php limits etc. Also note that this was randomly happening for some users, and now it's also happening to many more, me included.
After I browse to select the image and click on the submit button, I get a blank page that has vbulletin header & footer etc, and a "gallery message" block that is however empty.
After I do this, if I go to the ftp in the uploads folder, I see my image there. And if I go to the upload photos in photopost again, I see my image in queue.
I also checked at my apache error log and i don't see any errors at the times of the failed uploads. I'm using the gd library. Also everytime I try a new upload, I first delete the numeric folder under the uploads directory. Also in my pp-inc.php I already have:
I should also mention I have version 6.2 installed.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot this or what else I could try?

You can post a url and test login so we can see your issue. I would think that if you view the source of that blank page there is indeed a message there but you have a style conflict and your message is the same color as the box. We would need to suggest a resolution to that when we see it and also of course once you have the message you are getting we can respond to that as well.

No I do have blank there, I have checked the source. Here are the credentials to try:
Το Ελληνικό Forum για Ταξίδια (http://www.travelstories.gr/)
login at the top, user : test password: testing
and click on the button on the right of the password field to login.
Then go here for example:
Login - Η φωτογραφική Gallery του TravelStories (http://www.travelstories.gr/photo/uploadphoto.php?cat=2271)
and just choose one single, small image to upload, enter title & description and click the button below to submit the photo.

You can send ftp and admin info to us through the contact us link in the header. We know need much more of a look around at things to diagnose any issue. There should be a message so we need to look at the server end something has changed that much is sure.

Ok ftp+admin info sent through the contact form.

In php-inc.php if the diewell function is removed, the image will process as normal. Which tells us that it's a photoshop diewell error causing this. Now, when changing print "<br><br>$message"; to print "<br><br>$message" . 'testing'; the word "testing still doesn't show. Which leads me to believe that it's not a text error.

diewell does not mean it is an issue with our actual program. diewell means there is an error but your message is missing which can mean different things. If you set your language to english what is the message.
when I get a chance to look at your site I will comment. I still have a couple issues ahead of you. ;)

The admin login you gave me is not an admin login so not sure whats up with that
I get a message uploading think it says something about being too big so looks like your limiting filesizes in edit usergroups.

Sorry for that , I updated that user with full admin privileges, you can try now.
I have a 250kb limit per file in usergroups but I'm just trying to upload a file that is 46kb so that's not the issue here.
Also, language is set to english. I just translated inside the english file, some words into greek. I haven't touched any error messages though.

Well just for support perspective you should be using unaltered code some things about your gallery seem a little off so maybe you want to upgrade and use default files to diagnose anything else but it appears I can upload just fine. I uploaded an 800K file and a 17K file.
