This is not a new problem. It has happened for a long time, probably for all the years I've had the classifieds installed but I've finally reached the point where I'm getting tired of it.
I'm running Classifieds version 4.1
When one of my users posts a classified ad, I usually get this email. I've replace the actual username with the XXXX.
Now, I don't think it happens EVERY time but most of the time. I also wonder if it has something to do with my VB3 integration. I'm not sure but it may be happening when a member posts an add that hasn't actually registered in the classifieds. With my integration though, shouldn't all my members be automatically registered as classified users? If so, then something is wrong because I have about 11,000 registered forum members but only a few hundred registered classified users.
Anyway, here is the message that I get about the bounced email.

well do you know what email address that is? Basically you should be getting if you allow the standard email from classifieds that a new ad has been posted. Maybe your host does not allow email you might want to ask them what specifics they have.
As far as your users if your application is actually integrated with your forum correctly the user stats should be the same.

Yes, the email is one of my registered members that placed an ad. So why would it be saying "user unknown". Also, if it is my mail system, why does it send the emails in some cases but not the others. I don't get those bounced emails when those same users are receiving notifications of posts on the forum and etc. Only the classifieds.
And I certainly don't show as many members in the classifieds. I show 11,084 registered forum members. I also show that same number of registered users in the Photopost Admin area at the top under Registered users. But if I click on "member list" in the menu bar at the top of the classifieds, it only shows about 68 members.

OK...I just got another one. I usually get two...the one like I posted about and also this one. Note that on this one, there is no recipient address.

Okay well you can try clearing your notify table in classifieds and see if that solves your issue.
You also want to look into your integration and make sure you have things installed correctly as your classifieds should say you have 11084 users in the stats.

OK...I'll try that. I'm not sure that you are following me on the number of members though. If I go to the opening page of admin...where it shows version number and etc., it does show there the same number as I have on the forum, 11,084 members. When I go directly to the classifieds though and click on Members List in the menu bar, that is where it only shows 60 something members. Should that one ALSO show all 11,084 members or does it only show the number who have posted ads?
I honestly THINK that I have everything integrated correctly. I can PM you the login to admin of my classifieds if you want to take a quick look. If you are set to take PMs.

your fine if your stat show the same count of forum users just clear your notify table if you have old records that may be causing your issues.

Well, clearing the notify table did not help. This is strange though. I went into the classifieds admin panel and changed the notifications from email to messaging. I don't really understand what they does because the notifications are still sent by email. But, that did away with the bounced email messages. It seems to have created a new problem though. I am using VBulletins RSS tool to post new ad notifications to a specific forum. After I changed the notifications to messaging, I now get double posts in the forum for each ad that is placed.

Email or messaging have nothing to do with rss feeds. I can not comment on how your forum rss stuff works as thats outside our coding thats vbulletin not us. The only thing that is ours is this our rss script.
If your rss manager is importing stuff from an rss twice that has nothing to do with our classifieds code. Thats totally forum related issue.
As far as any email issue I would be glad to help but you really need to give me some more info. Emails are only sent to admin when new ads are uploaded or two users whom elect to be notified of new uploads.
If you cleared your notifiy table the only emails our application have left to sent out is the email to you that a new ad has been uploaded right. If not you need to give us more info. what is the email content?
