View Full Version : Play mp4 inline

How do I setup photopost to play mp4's in the gallery?
I added mp4 to acceptable uploads.
I also added mp4 to the " elseif ( stristr($bigimage, ".wmv") " line in the showphoto.php file. Unfortunately, it does not cause the mp4 to play. Additionally, the link to download returns a 404 error.
Any help would be appreciated

well you cant just alter code and make it work ;)
You would need to first investigate if you can find compatible mp4 inline players you can load on a page then you can alter code appropriately to load the player you want to use thats going to work.
Maybe the quicktime player will play mp4??

Yes, qt will play mp4's... I put the mp4 ext into the .mov statement. All I get is a bold text "video" displayed. Nothing else happens.

well like I said first you need to find a compatible inline player. I cant say anything we have will play an mp4 within the software as it is.

Any AS3 coded flash player will allow playing of net-stream video, which would play Mp4, mov, F4v, FLV or any h.264 formats for that matter. You also need to make changes to the showphoto.php and create a template to pull the required data.
I created a custom player for development use on my site which you see working here:
Ghost Whisperer: The Man Who Cant Be Moved - Digital Port Media (http://www.digitalport.co.uk/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=786&title=ghost-whispererthe-man-who-cant-be-moved&cat=10)
It does not take much to change it to play virtually any type of file. Obviously, you need to make adjustments to take larger uploads than the default PHP limit.
