Thank you, everyone, for your patience during this development time. As some of you know, the transition to vB4 is no mere "upgrade", it's a nearly total rewrite of all the plug-ins and templates associated with the gallery.

I'd like to thank Luc for all his hard work and efforts on this - without his help, there is no way we'd be getting this close to a release.

Gallery: PhotoPost vBGallery (http://www.michaelpierce.com/xforum/gallery/index.php)
Forum: Forums (http://www.michaelpierce.com/xforum/forum.php)

This is a testing area for the vBGallery update for vB4. Please feel free to take a look, register, upload, etc (nothing pornographic, please).

Let me know if you find any problems.

Michael P, that looks awsome! I am really excited now. Thanks for all you hard work. :D

Good job Michael and Luciano, on a first quick look it seems very sweet. Is there an eta to expect the beta? Thanks.
Edit: On further investigation I must admit it is really great and to be honest I'm surprised. B=0
I like the integration of the gallery menu into the navbar, the hints page on uploading and integration to user profile.
Some issues I stumbled over, footer say it's 2.5, Send as e-Card creates a heavy error, printable version and view slideshow gives an error, Subscribe to This Category gives a no permission, "Top 15 Replied to Images" listing images without reply, below the title text "Top 15 Replied to Images", "Top 15 Viewed Images" and "Top 15 Rated Images" is a smaller text saying: "POPimages description" and the top 15 viewed images isn't showing any image although there's 1 image rated by 5 stars .
But I'm sure you'll fix this soon.
Maybe it's possible to create some different custom fields on the demo site to check this out Michael? And again, really great stuff I can't wait to download it.
B.t.w as on the attached sreeenshot, is this a feature or bug?

Michael P

Send an ecard still has to be done, as does a bunch of the smaller stuff and a couple admin things. Let's hope a new update from vB doesnt come out and break half our stuff again :-)

March 12th, 2010, 11:48 PM
Thanks for the hard work guys.

Get this error, when looking at a printable version:
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: ADV_GALLERY_PRINTIMAGE in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3932

Example: Pirates! - PhotoPost vBGallery (http://www.michaelpierce.com/xforum/gallery/misc.php?do=printimage&i=13)

Michael P
March 13th, 2010, 08:23 AM
thanks, that would also be one of the templates not yet updated.

If anyone wants to help us speed up finishing this off, drop me a PM (template and coding experience with vb4 a must).

March 13th, 2010, 04:38 PM
Looks better than expected, will renew my suscription next week, thanks for the good work! :)

March 13th, 2010, 05:02 PM
I'm also looking forward to it's development.

March 13th, 2010, 09:39 PM
This is the best news my upgrade to vB4.

I'll be upgrading my subscription for vBGallery as soon as this is released.

Excellent work from everybody involved.

March 15th, 2010, 09:31 AM
Absolutely awesome. This really looks great :)

I can't wait to make the transition to vB4 / vBGallery

Thanks for all the hard work so far!

March 15th, 2010, 09:46 AM
It is possible to upgrade from an earlier version to not loose all pictures?

Chuck S
March 15th, 2010, 10:15 AM
Any upgrade of any product we put out you can upgrade from earlier versions and keep your photos etc. So when vbGallery 3.0 is released to the public sure you can upgrade.

The latest updates have been applied; we're going to enlist the help of our old friend Z to help with the installer (new install) and try to get this cleaned up for a BETA as soon as possible.

That's great news Michael. :D

March 17th, 2010, 09:32 AM
Thank you, Michel.

That is what I expect for vb4.

If your team release it, I probably I would transfer photopost to vbgallery.

Does it possible and how could I get like a scripts to import from photopost?

I already had see somewhere it described for import from photopost data to vbgallery.

Chuck S
March 17th, 2010, 10:22 AM
There is an import script in the vbgallery import scripts forum.

Michael P
March 17th, 2010, 08:38 PM
Not sure if the import scripts will need to be modified for vB4, though.

Found bug: Clicking onto an Avatar in COMMENTS the link to userprofile is wrong. Link should be forum/members/ and not forum/gallery/members

March 19th, 2010, 04:26 PM
Thank you, Miche

I'm not saying often positive things about Photopost (sorry) but this new design of vBGallery is freakin' AWESOME. It blends beautifully with vB4...congratulations to all who worked on it! :)

when will it be out?

Chuck S
March 27th, 2010, 04:31 PM
There is no ETA currently. The link posted here a couple weeks ago is a link to show what has been done to date and there is a list of things that needs to be completed before we can release a public beta for everyone to try.

Any news on this?

I'm hoping for the week after Easter; being optimistic. We may not have slideshow or ecards ready, but most everything else should be ready to start a BETA.

Has been updated with all our latest updates.

March 30th, 2010, 07:43 PM
Looking Good Michael :D

April 8th, 2010, 06:30 PM
Hopefully this will still be coming out this week? :)

Michael P
April 8th, 2010, 07:07 PM
Yes, working on finalizing the package now.

April 8th, 2010, 07:18 PM
Thank God!

Michael P
April 9th, 2010, 02:00 PM
I have the package for posting; just need to work on the member system to support another download. Likely it's time to retire the v1.1 version for vB3.5......

April 9th, 2010, 02:34 PM
Sounds good! I was needing to get this installed today if possible for our forum, which has been without vbgallery for a while now. Anyway I could get this sent to me, if you can't get it on the download page today?

Chuck S
April 9th, 2010, 02:50 PM
Michael dont we have a specific download for the vbGallery beta already? I thought we had made a spot when we did the 2.5 beta but I guess the gold replaced that spot. ;)

Michael P
April 9th, 2010, 03:45 PM
Yeah, we only have four spots and they are all taken by releases; so I have to bump one product up.

Chris, I can't email out copies; I'm working to get the download in place.

April 9th, 2010, 07:51 PM
Finally paid to get member's access, can't wait to start working on vbgallery :D

vBGallery BETA - PhotoPost Community (http://www.photopost.com/forum/vbgallery-beta/)

BETA forum open and BETA product posted for download.

Looking forward to your feedback and any help with finishing this off. :-)

April 10th, 2010, 12:27 PM
No luck.

I uploaded all files correctly. We had previously been using vbgallery when we were on vb3 remember.

I installed product ppvbgallery then enabled it and got database issues. I removed it, then installed the db conversion script xml you provided enabled it then reinstalled the ppvbgallery xml and enabled it and got db errors again.

When you view the forum not logged in it works ok and the forum loads no db errors. But when you log in you get db errors. I believe it has something to do with ppgal_user table not showing up? Maybe the xml db upgrade script didnt work right?

Need help...

April 10th, 2010, 12:30 PM
From the members area, when I try to download the beta, I get this message;

"No valid file specified! Please contact support."

Is it only me? I have only just renewed my membership, so could be that.

Chuck S
April 10th, 2010, 01:06 PM
Yes you must wait till your members access has been renewed before you have access to download.

April 10th, 2010, 01:14 PM
I thought so. Initially I couldn't get into the members area, so waited.

Now I can, I just can't download the beta (older versions are ok)

Sorry if I seem a little impatient, there's been a big hole in my forum since the gallery was lost.

I shall wait a while longer, thanks for the reply.

Chuck S
April 10th, 2010, 01:21 PM
No problem

April 10th, 2010, 04:57 PM

Michael P
April 10th, 2010, 05:05 PM
Should be good to download now.

April 10th, 2010, 05:28 PM
downloaded ok.

Thanks guys

This is awesome news, I have an entire site refresh and rebranding in the works for my 40k user community and this has been the final piece of the puzzle holding it all back. Will keep my eyes peeled for the gold version. Great work! http://www.photopost.com/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

Chuck S
April 12th, 2010, 06:42 PM
When it goes gold there will be an email announcement and posts here so you should know when it is ;)

April 13th, 2010, 12:07 PM
Demo site looks really good, good work Photopost ;)

When i try and upload the supplied XML file, i get this error message:

Michael P
April 13th, 2010, 03:24 PM
You'll need to post in the BETA forum for support.

April 26th, 2010, 07:28 PM
vBGallery BETA - PhotoPost Community (http://www.photopost.com/forum/vbgallery-beta/)

BETA forum open and BETA product posted for download.

Looking forward to your feedback and any help with finishing this off. :-)

My access to the member's area has been renewed and shows as such, but I can't access the beta forum. How do I get access to it?

Chuck S
April 26th, 2010, 08:53 PM
You do not show as a verified customer here. Are you sure your forum email matches the email of the license that has current members access? If you do that you should become verified when the forum cron updates your user account.

April 27th, 2010, 07:36 AM
They weren't the same, so I have updated them now... will wait for the cron update.

Is there a way to change my email address associated with the license? It was set to my paypal address which I don't normally use so I'd like to have it be my normal email address. They are both on the same domain.

Chuck S
May 27th, 2010, 12:59 PM
The example here is a personal test site. Customers whom own vbGallery can download the beta to try with vb4.

May 28th, 2010, 05:31 PM
how did you get the random photos to the top like that? i hate that mine are under my logo. i think that looks unprofessional

May 28th, 2010, 05:32 PM
oh i will be purchasing this but am currently testing (offline) a friends version.

i love the support that you guys give....its great!!!

May 28th, 2010, 08:57 PM
Hiya guys,

I've bought a licence for the gallery and the classifieds to run on VB4. Just a quick question to see if you had any timelines for when the flash uploader will be included within the VBG version or whether it just won't be included at all in the VB4 version ?

Cheers in advance.

Michael P
May 28th, 2010, 09:01 PM
It's not going to make it into the first update; we need this to get stable first, then I can add back in the other uploader.

May 28th, 2010, 09:18 PM
No probs. Thanks for the quick reply.
