Ok so I figured out how to ad banner ads to my site. I do have a couple of questions, for my site Home (http://www.Germantin.com)
1. I have been using photobucket to get the banners that are .gif in to HTML is there another way to do this?
2. How do I do a rotating banner on lets say the header?
3. If I have my logo of the website in the header on the left side how do I ad a banner to be centered in the remainder empty space in the header?
Thanks for any help, Steven

1. all depends what your doing here. see below
2. I would suggest you go find a banner ad utility and use it on your site like phpmyadsNew
It will allow you to configure banners and rotate them and give you the html to put in your header
3. You simply use two separate td tags in a table. One left and the other center aligned.

Steven any banner program you use should give you the proper html. Its going to be different based on what program you use.

Using layers ontop of the header are helpful also. It places it ontop of the page, rather than within the header, sometimes causing layout issues.
Just use the below code, and edit the positions to on the header file you want to use to get it just in the right spot:
enter your banner code here
Might also check out google ad manager: Google Ad Manager is a hosted ad management solution that can help you sell, schedule, deliver, and measure all of your directly-sold and network-based inventory.

Google is not bad but the best free one I ever found was the phpadsnew
OpenX (phpAdsNew) | Get OpenX (phpAdsNew) at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpadsnew/)

Thanks Skidpics that layering code worked out great just what I was looking for, would you happen to have a simple rotating banner code that rotates at a time frame and not a page reload?
Thanks for the help, Steven

There are plenty of free script out there that will rotate banners.. But most will do it per page refresh..
Search for "simple php code to rotate banners" for php code to accomplish your task..
There is phpads: PHP Ad Manager | Get PHP Ad Manager at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/admgr/) and OpenX: OpenX (phpAdsNew) | Get OpenX (phpAdsNew) at SourceForge.net (http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpadsnew/)
It really depends on what you are doing.. I would say you prob need something pretty simple.

$banner_list = array(
Of course, this still does not refresh the header.. in order to that, you will have to figure out 1. The open PP with a topframe or 2. find that ad rotation script that will reload within a time frame, without page refresh ;-)

Yes indeed which is why unless you know how to write code you find a program that is the closest fit for your needs.
