View Full Version : Trying To Save ACP Settings...White Pages
March 5th, 2009, 11:16 AM
Really hate for my first post to be a support type question...however, I have just recently purchased and installed Classifieds into a new forum I will be soon launching.
When I visit the ACP and try to save any and all settings I get a blank page (I should note that the left side bar is still present). When I revisit the page where I just made those setting changes, nothing has taken affect.
I searched through the community before posting but didn't find a solution to this issue. Any suggestions??

Possibly try redownloading the build upload the files except config files again and try
maybe corrupt download

I returned to the members section to re-download the package and I am seeing a different version within the single link box. When I originally downloaded Classifieds the only link in the download box was the beta. I thought that was strange and looked around for the "Gold" copy but didn't not find it. So long story short...I have the beta and would like to install a non-beta type software. Is this possible? I've attached a screen shot of the download box. I'm thinking it updates as photopost.com upgrades software packages. I found navigating around a little confusing.

Download 3.05 and upload all the files except the config files as noted in my last reply ;)
That should help you although the beta has no trouble saving options. reuploading files to verify your files are not corrupt are just the first step.

I wasn't sure if I could simply upload 3.05 over the existing installed beta version without affecting the db. I will give that a whirl as you said. Thanks

Not a problem should work fine.

I went a step more. I didn't want any funny bussiness with my database and since I have not launched my new forum yet. I deleted the db and did a complete fresh VB3.8.1 install followed by a new install of classified 3.05. The classified install went smooth through out the process and when I try and save any settings within the classified ACP I am still getting the white page as mentioned above. Any ideas??

Try making sure in the apache setup that MOD SECURITY is not enabled. You may need to contact your webhost off hand thats the only thing that might prevent that.

Hey Chuck and Tr!p...
Remember Chuck this was the issue I was having upon installation also? Sent you a couple of support emails and then figured it out on my own. Here's what I wrote to Chuck and how I resolved it.
I got it!!!!
I had forgotten that we had included a "force rewrite" rule in the htaccess file to append a "www" onto the URL. This was messing things up. It's straight now.
So in short, my site was originally set up as "http://portablealliance.com" and then we put a force rewrite rule into the .htaccess file to append the "www" onto the site url. So, I simple changed the settings in admin and viola, everything started working and saving with no more blank white pages.

My site is set up as "http://example.com" and I do have a force www rewrite rule as well. I'm assuming you set the settings to reflect the www? "http://www.example.com" and left the htaccess rewrite rule?
Thanks a ton misticjeff I would never figure that out.

I will have to bookmark this one. Mod security has the same effect it only affects admin panel actions.
