i just bought both vbulletin and photopost today
i installed vbulletin on my domain fine with no probs
but i had alot of problems with photopost
i finaly got it installed i think lol
but on a subdomain first off does that matter?
after installing i get these messages
Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /homepages/23/d246425488/htdocs/photopost/header-inc.php on line 47
Warning: main(./global.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /homepages/23/d246425488/htdocs/photopost/header-inc.php on line 48

help me what do i do???????

I seem to recall that using subdomains is a bad idea if you're integrating with vb3. It can cause problems with paths (which looks like what's happening with your error messages), and it can also cause cookie problems.
Best bet is to install VB in /forums and PP in /gallery (as an example), both as directories right off of your web root.

Very common issue that thread should assist on the last step of install the incorrect server path to the forum was entered.
July 2nd, 2008, 09:10 PM

July 2nd, 2008, 10:06 PM

July 2nd, 2008, 10:26 PM
ok now i got the photopost to work when i click on either members list or usercp it says error 404 not found! what the has it actualy intergrated or is there something i have done wrong
July 2nd, 2008, 11:12 PM
Sounds like maybe a paths problem, but it's impossible to say without seeing the site.
July 2nd, 2008, 11:17 PM
Main Index - My Photo Gallery (http://www.digitaldownunder.com/)
that is the site i am now having trouble logging out lol
thanks for being patient with me ;)
July 2nd, 2008, 11:27 PM
Things are changing as I look, so I guess you're working on it :)
Did you install both PhotoPost and VBulletin in the same directory? That's my best guess from seeing what was happening. You want to put VB in /forums or similar and PhotoPost in /gallery or similar.
July 2nd, 2008, 11:29 PM
yeah i am trying to work on it but now i cant log in or log out lol
yeah i think i did install them in the same directory my vbulletin was /forum and then photopost /gallery
i dont know now why i cant log in or out lol
July 2nd, 2008, 11:32 PM
did you see that when you press on "faq" or "members list" that it says error found ahhhhhhh this is doing my head in lol
July 2nd, 2008, 11:36 PM
Well, PhotoPost is running from your root directory, not /gallery. That's why I was wondering if maybe you put them both in the same place, overwriting stuff maybe.
Also, /forum is being automatically redirected to /forums, so that might be causing some, but not all, of the problems. Sorry, it's really hard to describe this kind of stuff with the written word in a forum :)
July 2nd, 2008, 11:43 PM
ok so is it supposed to be digitaldownunder.com/gallery
yeah i may have overwritten stuff i dont know lol
with the forum and forums how do i change that?
i understand it is hard to explain it is ok i just want this up and running lol i appreciate your help so much
July 2nd, 2008, 11:47 PM
ok i think i will just start again i will install vbullettin thats the easy part and then i will get you guys to install and intergrate photopost for me lol
July 2nd, 2008, 11:52 PM
Honestly, its usually easier in these instances to just do it all again.
1. Create a folder in the root (htdocs) folder of your site called "forums". If its already there delete it and then recreate it. Upload everything in the VB3 "upload" folder to here. Run the VB3 install.
2. Create a folder in the root (htdocs) folder of your site called "gallery". If its already there delete it and then recreate it. Upload everything in the PhotoPost Pro package to here. Run the PhotoPost install, with VB3 integration choices. It's been about 18 months since I've installed PhotoPost from scratch, but if you input all the choices right it should work fine.
I'd recommend creating a new MySQL database for this too, so that nothing is left over from the previous attempt.

I dont find any valid site in any of these links
July 3rd, 2008, 05:37 AM
yeah thats right i uninstalled it all cause i cant get it working and have emailed about a refund
July 3rd, 2008, 06:31 AM
ok cancel that post above lol i want to keep it now but i am just frustrated i cant seem to get it installed and working it is driving me crazy
July 3rd, 2008, 08:03 AM
well please show us where you are with it. Our installation instructions should be pretty clear there as I know we have given you that link and every link I show here is an invalid domain so where is your gallery?
July 3rd, 2008, 08:23 AM
i apologise for the that i have lack of experience in doing this so i am a bit confused
i have just installed vbulletin forum no probs
now this is where i get stuck installing photopost i am uploading all the files of photopost into my web server so it is /gallery and my forum is /forum
i have two databases one for the gallery and one for the forum i want to install the forum and photopost on digitaldownunder.com am i right that i have to point my domain to /gallery to run the install? that means by doing that i am taking the domain off the vbulletin so when if and when i get photopost to install and intergrate does that mean i point my domain to vbulletin and photopost will be there as well
sorry if i dont make sense it is hard to get the point across in words lol i am better on the phone
July 3rd, 2008, 08:46 AM
Photopost and vbulletin would be installed on the same domain
simply go to your gallery directory from your forum like so
You have install instructions already so I assume you have set permissions and done all that
You simply put your photopost database on the config screen where asked and put vb database info in the user database portion. You run through the install and select external integration make sure vb3 is the dropdown highlighted and answer all questions correctly on step 4 meaning the correct table prefix of vb if there is any and the cookie prefix which is most likely bb
Now on the last step of install you make sure the server path urls are correct to forum and gallery and you can turn on the 3 advanced integration swithes for vb3
Thats all there is to it your done with install.
I dont really know what you mean by domain off. ;)
July 3rd, 2008, 08:51 AM
ok here is the link to the site
Main Index - My Photo Gallery (http://digitaldownunder.com/index.php)
i have installed vbullettin and photopost but i dont see that it has intergrated and same problem as before if i click on register, faq, members list it comes up and says error 404 not found
July 3rd, 2008, 09:54 AM
Where is your photopost? You have given us a link to the forum not photopost.
Your problem is most likely you are inputting an incorrect url for photopost on install but of course I would actually need to see your site for this
July 3rd, 2008, 09:55 AM
We do offer installation service for those that need it also available on our online store.
July 3rd, 2008, 10:16 AM
i am so sorry as i said before i really dont know what i am doing i will be looking to pay you guys to install it for me i just dont have the money right now so i guess i will just have to wait
thanks for you help
July 3rd, 2008, 11:16 AM
okay if you post a true link to your gallery we may be able to tell you what your issue is
July 3rd, 2008, 02:16 PM
here is the link to the photopost that you wanted chuck i hope you can help me now
July 3rd, 2008, 02:37 PM
ok one sec i am going to give something a try
July 3rd, 2008, 11:37 PM
well again Tina that would have seemed to be a link to your forum not photopost.
Remember your vbulletin is here
You said your gallery was suppose to be there
Just remember to use the proper urls on install
Your site once again does not show so I am not sure what your doing there to vb and photopost ;)
July 4th, 2008, 02:33 AM
i had another go from scratch......no good
this link will work, and i won't touch it lol
Main Index - My Photo Gallery (http://digitaldownunder.com/index.php)
so could you please look at it
July 4th, 2008, 10:23 AM
Main Index - My Photo Gallery (http://digitaldownunder.com/index.php)
what do you mean no go?
I only see a few minor issues basically from you entering either relative paths or incorrect paths
Now example you have the proper forum server path as your loading the vb header? However when asked on install you entered your forum url as this?
That is obviously incorrect so that is issue 1
Issue 2 is your header image from the forum is a relative link no big deal easily corrected
Now if you tell us where the forum is we can tell you how to correct these two issues
July 4th, 2008, 02:58 PM
Each of these applications need to be installed in different directories like so
Only thing I see when trying to view things is you installing them overtop of one another etc.
July 4th, 2008, 07:55 PM
thank you so much chuck i see what is happening here now
when i first install vbulletin to bring up the install page it should look like this right
thats if i renamed the vbulletin folder to forums
but there is the problem when i enter that it says error page can not be found
and it is the same when i install photopost.
so what i did was just install it as
PhotoPost Install Script (http://www.digitaldownunder.com/install.php) for photopost
http://www.digitaldownunder.com/install/install.php for vbulletin
so if i cant get the install page to come up with the right directory what do i do?
is that the problem?????????
July 4th, 2008, 10:52 PM
well the urls your giving me all seem to be bogus because the script does not exist so everytime i go to your site nothing exists.
Second look at the url your trying to install vbulletin on top of Photopost?
Thats why everyone here is confused we dont really know what your doing. As stated before if you install the programs into two separate directories the urls would look like this
See how the install scripts run from the respective directories and the programs are in their proper places. Is this some hosting server or is this some machine you are configuring? I would suggest installing the programs as I note.
July 5th, 2008, 12:49 AM
as for these links that i posted i typed in something totaly different and they have come up as this i dont understand why
yes i have a web host which is 1&1
you guys are confused as well as i am lol
one day i will get it up and running i just dont understand.
i upload all my vbulletin files to /forums and photopost to /gallery how is that overwriting the files
July 5th, 2008, 12:51 AM
i am starting a fresh install wether or not that makes a difference
July 5th, 2008, 07:06 AM
ok i have succesfully installed both vbulletin and photopost yayyyyyyy!!!!!!!
but i have another problem it seems like i have to log twice once for the gallery and then for the forum??????
this is the link to the photopost gallery
Main Index - DigitalDownUnder (http://digitaldownunder.com/gallery/index.php)
it seems also that only admins have the upload photos option and when you press on it it says Sorry, you don't have permission to upload photos.
i am not sure if it has intergrated properly
and if it has how do i navigate between the forums and gallery
July 5th, 2008, 08:11 AM
ok i have figured out the upload images scenario lol that is all good
when i am in the gallery and i press on the usercp option it takes me to the forum but then i cant get back to the gallery so i am unable to navigate from the gallery to the forum lol
i thought maybe this is a cookie problem or even a paths problem but i don't know
oh the other thing is i uploaded a image and it does not create a thumbnail i know when you do the install it asks for something to do with that but i didn't do anything so what can i do for that
and how do i create the navigation buttons and is there any themes i can use other than the default where do i get them from lol
July 5th, 2008, 09:08 AM
See what happens when you install both applications in their own directories like I explained. ;)
Yes if your login is not recognized it is cookie issues. Try setting your cookies as noted here. Make sure also in your config settings in admin you have the proper vbulletin license number set where asked. This is license number should be at the top of any vb file not the customer number of vb.
July 5th, 2008, 09:21 AM
yeah i know hehehehe
ok i have set the cookies to what they are supposed to be but still when i click on the usercp it takes me to the forum and i cant get back to the photo gallery cause i dont have any buttons to get back there lol
like this site see how they have home and picture album how do i create those

You would need to actually add a link in your vbulletin navbar template. If you go to vbulletin admin panel and click styles administration then styles and templates you see your default style listed there. There is a dropdown box you can highlight edit templates and hit GO. Once you get a list of your vb templates scan down to navigation templates and click that will expand the navigation templates find navbar and double click it to edit. You will need to place a link like so in there maybe under the FAQ LINK like so.
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://www.photopost.com/forum/photopost-pro-installation-upgrades/faq.php" accesskey="5">FAQ</a></td>
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://digitaldownunder.com/gallery/index.php" accesskey="5">Forum</a></td>
<td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="http://digitaldownunder.com/gallery/index.php" accesskey="5">Gallery</a></td>
July 6th, 2008, 07:23 AM
