View Full Version : bulk move problem?
April 3rd, 2008, 05:57 PM
been trying to move some of my products from one cat to another by using the bulk actions. but i keep getting this error
/home/mysite/public_html/reviews/data/15/ -> /home/mysite/public_html/reviews/data/21/
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
there are no pictures for it to copy, just the product details/description. i can move the product manually by going into edit product but i got hundreds i want to move. can this be done and is the error above something that any of you can help me on
thanks in advance for any help that can be given.

Your saying it works using editproduct but not bulk move?
The strange thing here is that error is a permissions error meaning it should not work anyway as permissions are not 777.

been through all the folders and all are set to 777. as i say really weird as it lets me manually move them but bulk move from the admin comes up with that error. i mean i can move them all manually but thought if anyone had any ideas on what would be causing them not to move through bulk move, it would have made my life easier.

well in bulk move in admin it moves all images from one category to another.
while ( list( $pid, $puserid, $thecat, $filename ) = mysql_fetch_row($resulta) )
move_image_cat( $pid, $catmove, "no" );
$from_cat = get_catname( $origcat );
$to_cat = get_catname( $catmove );
It is quite simple we use move_image_cat function which calls move_image
So if it stops it is stopping because permissions on some file is strange and it cant do it. We only move an image if one exists as noted here
if ( !empty($bigimage)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage );
if ( !empty($bigimage2)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage2 );
if ( !empty($bigimage3)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage3 );
if ( !empty($bigimage4)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage4 );
if ( !empty($bigimage5)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage5 );
if ( !empty($bigimage6)) move_image( $pcat, $catmove, $puserid, $bigimage6 );
I would need alot more info and hands on look to see what might be your issue honestly
The only way you can get the error your noting is if the filename is not valid in the database that I see where we are trying to copy nothing to nothing. Note there is no image in your error.

where what do you mean it doesnt work? Does it always stop on the same image ?
I have tested bulk move in admin and have no issues with this it moved all products from one category to another.
