I have couple of users trying to upload pictures and following accurs.
they upload picture and everything looks fine, but when it should take them to verify image, instead it takes them to galery category they selected to upload the picture to.
Picture gets erased from server and is not uploaded.
users have no limit on uploads.

Your server's PHP has a maximum 2mb upload size unless you alter php settings so any file larger than that will be deleted by your server

ok hosting provider changed my php upload limit to 5mb, but still same problem for even very small pictures, less then 800k.
Could it be something else doing this?

if I upload pictures via ftp and then using photopost the pictures are taken just fine, but if users tried doing it Its always the same problem takes them back to category.

well how about having your host set max execution time to 0 as if it takes longer than the current 30 seconds to upload the video your server will drop it thats what i suspect.
April 3rd, 2008, 08:12 PM
no that did not solve the problem. Still having problem uploading pictures.
April 3rd, 2008, 08:59 PM
Look at your php settings you did not change anything its still 30 seconds to timeout your php
April 3rd, 2008, 09:21 PM
ok max_execution_time is now 0
and still having same problem
could it have something to do with post max size?
April 3rd, 2008, 10:02 PM
well you can only upload up to 8mb yes
April 3rd, 2008, 10:12 PM
yes just 8mb but pictures uploaded are less then 1mb
and also if i change post max size above 8 mb
then instead taking user to category it takes them to upload page.
no uploaded picture, no saved picture.

well clearly if php is set to allow larger uploads then ask your host if its restricted in your apache setup or possibly also there is the php.conf file
Your being restricted by the server somehow.

what i don't understand is that some of the files are uploaded just fine and some will not upload. The file sizes are all about the same.
This is clearly not a server upload restriction, nor php restriction since some pictures upload and some don't
Can you think of anything else or could there be something with photopost itself?
April 4th, 2008, 04:49 PM
Yes it is if its files under a certain size that upload there is a restriction somewhere.
April 4th, 2008, 04:58 PM
ok here it is uploaded
Picture 1: size 944k works fine
Picture 2: size 930k does not upload
picture 3: size 928k works fine
picture 4: size 819k does not upload
now you explain to me where is the restriction when half of them upload and half don't. Clearly restrictions are not the problem.

That makes no sense. If your server drops an upload then its gonna drop it on size. You can pm a url and admin login
and as much info as file types etc to try and make sense of it

I'm reinstalling photopost. Lets see if that works, if not I'll send you the access.

Okay just pm me if you need to.

By default a normal PHP install only supports 2048kb filesize unless you alter your php settings.
