Greetings.

I've been searching through postings on the forum for help with a problem we are having since I upgraded our PhotoPost from 5.3 to 6.0

It's the fairly common error :

Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1

Command:

"/usr/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 0x100 -quality 100 -geometry 0x100 '/d01/meguiarsonline/forums/photopost/data/500/thumbs/vintage3.gif'

I have verified that the data and upload directories and ALL subdirectories are set to 777 for permissions. In addition I verified that:

1) the mogrify path is correct
2) the photo files are in fact uploading successfully into the upload directory

If I run mogrify manually using the same command I get a file not found error in the Linux shell shown here:

mogrify: unable to open image `/d01/meguiarsonline/forums/photopost/data/500/thumbs/vintage3.gif': No such file or directory.
mogrify: missing an image filename `/d01/meguiarsonline/forums/photopost/data/500/thumbs/vintage3.gif'.
[root@db01 bin]#

So I what it appears to be happening (or not happening in this case) is that the file is never being copied from the upload directory to the thumbs directory under the category directory in data.

What would cause this to happen? More importantly, what can I do to fix it as we have this on a live forum and users are getting a little bit anxious.

Thanks for your help!

Hello

Are permissions correct on your data directory at every level?

Have you ran your upgrades from 5.3 to 6.0?

Does GD2 work for uploads?

Chuck-

All of the permissions on the data directory are 777. I verified this again this morning, and in fact to be certain (since there's a couple hundred directories) I ran chmod 777 * on the data directory. I then attemped a new upload, and as before, the image file was uploaded to the proper directory in uploads, but not copied to 500/thumbs so I got the same error as I reported in my original post.

Yes, I did run the upgrade, the one from 5.61/5.62 to 6.0 since we previously were running 5.62.

Interestingly enough, when I switch over to GD2, I get this error no matter if it's a gif or jpg formatted image:

(): Sorry, this image type is not supported yet.

Why that would be I'm not sure. Thanks for your continued help and patience.

Okay that seems to tell me permissions etc are off. You may email support@photopost.com with url admin login as well as ftp information and we can have a look.
