View Full Version : How do I get rid of this error?

Hi. Unfortunately, uploading is giving an error each time. I tried changing permissions via ftp but some folders, like some upload folders, would not take my changes to 777. I am not really sure what I am doing. You guys installed it for me. When uploading, I get errors like:
Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1
"/usr/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 0x100 -quality 100 -geometry 0x100 '/home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/500/thumbs/army.gif'

When trying to rebuild my thumbs and mediums, I get things like:
Checking photo #1208: rebuilding /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/640/thumbs/TM_logo.gif from /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/640/TM_logo.gif ...
Warning: copy(/home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/640/thumbs/TM_logo.gif) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 302
Checking photo #1179: checking medium... creating...

When I go to upload, this line appears above my header at the very top of my site!:
Warning: copy(/home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/500/thumbs/foreign_coin1.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 302
I have been working on fixing the gallery since a recent hacking.

A user just sent me a PM asking why she is getting this when she goes to upload:
Unable to move file [/tmp/php6BYffm] [/home/mysite/public_html/gallery/uploads/807/summer_2006_stampeed_066.jpg]

Yes we could have installed your gallery thats fine but thats also quite awhile ago.
Just looks like to me your host or so knocked permissions off. You just need to FTP to your server and set permissions on the uploads and data directories to 777 permissions at every level or use SSH and use the recursive chmod command.
If you have SSH sign in go to your gallery folder and type this with putty
chmod -R 777 data
chmod -R 777 uploads
Otherwise with ftp you kind of have to do it one at a time which is time consuming
