View Full Version : How can Moderators Edit Ads?
April 21st, 2007, 06:19 PM
Hi , I have a brand new setup that Im trying to get to the point where It can go live.
Im wondering how I set it up so moderators are able to edit ads.
I have them able to do everything except Admin access in the User Groups
In the categories I have them set as Moderators too.
How can they edit posts?
What do I have to change?
Many thanks :)

Edit ads or edit posts? I would need to know which one
editing should be a matter of making them a moderator in edit usergroups and making sure that usergroup also has permission to edit ads

Hi Chuck, In the user groups I have them set as Moderators, However they can only edit their own ads.
Id like them to be able to edit all member ads. Sorry if I confused you with "Posts"
Currently the moderators cant edit ads other than their own.
How can I fix this?

They should be able to as long as this is followed.
1. You assign in edit usergroups they can moderate and edit ads
2. You assign them to specific categories as moderators or in admin options assign moderators as GLOBAL
They should the see an edit link when viewing an ad.

Chuck, I have it set up exactly like that.
Mods can moderate and edit ads
In the Categories I have their names added as Mods
In Global they are added there too.
I just created a mod account for myself, there is no option to edit any ads.
All I see at bottom of ads are the following options:
Add to Watch List · Report Product · Receive Email Updates
When clicking on the "Admin" button in the menu bar, I see the following options there
Approve / Bulk Actions
Back to User Index
There is still nowhere for mods to edit ads....
the option isnt there, for my mod, nor the account I created to test it

I will do more testing but from what I see mods can edit ads fine

I'm having this same problem. Haven't been able to figure it out, and everything is setup in admin like it should be in accordance with your instructions. Any word on this?

Okay here is what you need to check because this does work from what I see
1. In edit usergroups in admin the moderators group must have mod permission and permission to edit ads
2. Assign a user to the moderators usergroup
3. Assign that mod to a category to be a moderator in edit categories
You should see an edit link etc after doing this when logged in as that user

Ok, I have all of that set. Still no link. I have turned off all caching and everything, just to make sure and still nothing.
