Installing the newest version on a linux server running redhat fedora core, up to date php, mysql and imagemagick..

my forum (vbulletin) software is running in /httpdocs/forum

and i uploaded 'gallery,' which is what i renamed the photopost folder to /httpdocs/gallery

edited config-int.php to..

// We need to know the server paths to both your vB installation and your PhotoPost installation
$vbpath = "/httpdocs/forum";
$pppath = "/httpdocs/gallery";

but i am getting this error when I go to www.afboard.com/gallery

Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/header-inc.php on line 64

Warning: main(./global.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/header-inc.php on line 65

Warning: main(./global.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/header-inc.php on line 65

Look at your own error messages because your issue is simple. You are not using the correct server paths to your gallery and forum. Try this in that file

$vbpath = "/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/forum";
$pppath = "/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery";

now i am getting

Warning: main() [function.main]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/httpdocs/gallery/languages/english.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs:/tmp) in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/pp-inc.php on line 176

Warning: main(/httpdocs/gallery/languages/english.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/pp-inc.php on line 176

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/httpdocs/gallery/languages/english.php' (include_path='.:') in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/pp-inc.php on line 176

Same thing when you installed the application you inputted incorrect server paths.

Edit the config-inc.php file and for the pp_path variable enter the true gallery path

Database not properly setup - unable to read pp_settings table. Contact administrator.

I appreciate your help.

Have you properly gone through install as that states your install has not been done we can not read the photopost database. You sure you just did not wipe out your good config with a bad config trying to fix your pp_path issue?

I'll re-upload a new/freshly edited config-int and inc file and see what happens..

Just make sure all the information as far as paths and database info is correct etc or just now that you know the mistakes you made run through install and do a install

mikefear

// PhotoPost's database name
$database="photopost";

should that be a new database I make, or can i use my forum database?

You can do either but the information you input must be correct how did you install it the first time what info did you use

ok, figured how to get to the webinstall, now I am on step 2 and get this..

Paths to executables may not contain spaces - if using long filenames, use the short version.

Testing MOGRIFY at: /usr/bin/X11/mogrify.... WARNING!
Cannot find ImagicMagick's MOGRIFY command listed as: /usr/bin/X11/mogrify
Be sure that the name of the executable is listed in this variable and that there are no spaces in the path to mogrify.There were 1 WARNING message(s). If you are okay with the warnings, you may continue, otherwise GO BACK to change your config-inc.php or click refresh to try again!

Our install instructions are here

http://www.photopost.com/installphp.html

You need to input the proper full path to mogrify on your install or select gd2

I know, I've read the install instructions.. I dont have shell access to do the location.. anyway to figure it out besides doing that?

mikefear
March 20th, 2007, 11:27 AM

You have specified the incorrect path on the last step of install to the forum

but i am getting this now:

Warning: main() [function.main]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/global.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs:/tmp) in /var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery/header-inc.php on line 65

config-int.php

mikefear
March 20th, 2007, 03:20 PM
config-int.php
ok, it now reads:

// We need to know the server paths to both your vB installation and your PhotoPost installation
$vbpath = "/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/forum";
$pppath = "/var/www/vhosts/afboard.com/httpdocs/gallery";

// We need the URL path to your PhotoPost and vb installation
$url_path = "http://www.afboard.com/gallery";
$vb_urlpath = "http://www.afboard.com/forum";

// The URL of your photo dir where your images are stored (with / at end)
$data_dir = "http://www.afboard.com/gallery/data/";
so lets cross our fingers!

mikefear

One small problem now.. during the install, I chose G2 (and it verified).. but it is still trying to use ImageMagick to resize the images...any ideas?
