View Full Version : Got a unique problem

Several weeks ago we lost about 10k images from our vbgallery in a server move (don't ask), the photos being stored in the filesystem. Well, now we're having our members reupload their photos and are finding a strange problem... when they upload their new photos, the thumbnails of their old photos (the ones that were lost) show up. Yet when you click on the thumbnails you are taken to the new image. The thumbnail does not represent the new photo, but the old photo that was lost.
I've run some of the maintenance scripts but nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?
Also, when I run the "scan database" tool it comes up with photos that are not found. The boxes are checked to delete them, yet there is no submit button to actually start the process to delete them. How am I supposed to delete those files?

when you scan the database the submit button should be all the way @ the bottem of the page.

It's not there. Do I need to reupload a file or something? Should the Scan Database tool fix the issue I described above?

So I just manually deleted the files that had problems in the Scan Database list. That's not really the issue though. The real issue is what I explained in the first post. Can someone let me know why it's doing that? Please.

Did you use ImpEx to update or import your data ?
- If so perhaps some user ID's changed that was not reflected to the gallery.
Other than the server move were there any database changes ?

No, I simply made a mysqldump and copied it to the new server and restored. The thumbnails that are not working correctly are actually tied to the right user ID, they're just not tied to the right photo. So you click on the the thumbnail and it shows a different photo. No, no other db changes were made aside from the move. We did just update the vb script and the vbgallery script a few weeks afterward though.
The only logical conclusion that I can come up with is this - the large photos were lost and the thumbnails were not, so when someone uploads a photo, the naming scheme used by vbgallery adds a photo with the next available number but then still has a record of that number with an old thumbnail on hand. So the old thumbnail shows for the new larger photo. Question is, how do I correct this?

Who can I call for support on this problem? I'm not getting much help via this forum and I need to get this problem fixed. Posting a message and waiting days/weeks for a reply is not acceptable.

There are a few places to update PATH and URL wise.
AdminCP => vBGallery => Modify Settings
- Title, URL's, & Paths
These must reflect your new paths and urls.
If you are still experiencing problem shoot me some FTP and AdminCP access.
