I have moved my images over to my server now i need to get them into photopost. If i put images into a folder /test at root should i place this url into Retrieve all images from a URL: box ? I have tried this and it doest place the images into the gallery i selected.
do i need to change the "Files should already be in" box entry ?

I see if i change the "Files should already be in" entry it won't work.
what i'm trying to do is create a script to automate adding all my images to photopost.
I have figured out how to automate adding the categories but i need to tell photopost which folder the images are in for each catagory.

You need to point the upload path box to the path you want to process images for that category where they exist and then you can hit the skip upload and process files in upload directory checkbox ;)

here is an example of one of my folder paths
i entered that in the Retrieve all images from a URL: input box
but it doesn't work.
i tried ../allfansites-gallery/httpdocs/Aaliyah since uploadphoto.php has path
didn't work either
Files should already be in: input box contains
am i not formatting the url correctly?

If the directory which needs to be an accurate and full server path then it will find files there is there are any. If it does not find files then none exist where you are saying they are. So recheck this

the image folders are in the same root directory as the photopost directory

its like the url i enter is being ignored

$getUrl = @file($downloadurl);
$imgtags = array();
$processed_data = check_tags($getUrl, $allowed);
if ( count($imgtags) > 0 )
where is $imgtags assigned the number of images in the folder?

download by url means we strip image tags out of a page or something so I think you have a misunderstanding of the download url thing.
yes bulkupload works fine just make sure your placing the proper server path in there
download by url would include the full name to the html file to read for image tags

if i change the url in the "Files should already be in" box that wont work either
seems like it checks that the userid and folder matchup?
seems like i'm going to have to have my script move the images to my assigned folder before i can upload them

If the files exist on the same server you can change the path but yes if they do not exist on the same server you can not use bulkupload. also as noted you must have some file with img tags to strip them off some external site.
