View Full Version : No admin access...
September 16th, 2006, 09:31 AM
I seem to be having a common problem ... but nothing works for me...
I have checked the tables, usergroup ID 6 exists in both PP and VB, my username is group 6. I log in, no admin access. Tryo to go to adm-index and get the infamous not an admin error. I have manually edited the config files to ensure cookies are correct. HELP!

In your usergroups table are there any entries if not insert this using phpmyadmin.
INSERT INTO pp_usergroups VALUES (6,'Administrator',1,1,1,1,'','','',1,1,1,0,0);

well big thing is you never upgraded your site. You threw new files on the site and did not run the upgrade script
Try turning on your vb3 integration etc in config-int.php settings
You can post a test user account here for us to try

There was no upgrade from 4.8 -> 5.0 in the upgrade.php file.

And i can't do a test user since i cant access the admin section to grant the user privelages... email me and i will give you my information and you log in with that. Also, i found the upgrade and ran it, no luck.

Thats because your guy was not editing the right database etc. You had two databases
You should be fine but you ran the 485 upgrade twice so you need to restore a photos table backup and rerun the upgrade once
September 25th, 2006, 11:53 AM
Ok could you give me a step by step of what to do in the future so i know how to go about doing upgrades?
September 25th, 2006, 11:55 AM
what your doing is not an upgrade though
You where switching integrations and upgrade at same time your issues where with the integration you where trying to switch and you just got flustered and ran an upgrade twice

Ok, which database is the correct one? I assumed it was the database ucforums. I need to know so I can restore from the correct one.
September 25th, 2006, 12:10 PM
yes it is but he was editing ucgallery.
ucforums still had all the wrong things
September 25th, 2006, 12:22 PM
OK i am restoring ucforums, now, this was v4.8.1, so i run the 4.8.2 update and follow the prompts to run the others correct?
September 25th, 2006, 12:25 PM
Yes and run all the upgrades once. Now note you only want to restore the photos table
September 25th, 2006, 12:26 PM
I just restored the whole database. for VB and PP.
September 25th, 2006, 12:31 PM
Ok, I ran the upgrade, ONCE only. I do not have admin access and while photos show up, none of the categories seem to work right. Did I miss something?
September 25th, 2006, 01:03 PM
You did not run 4.82 upgrade and as such had no cookie settings
September 25th, 2006, 01:07 PM
I ran that, clicked on the "click here to run upgrade" link, and it did nothing, and i didnt wanna click it twice so i went back and did the 4.8.5 and things seems fine from there.
September 25th, 2006, 02:24 PM
What did you do to repair that page?
September 25th, 2006, 02:35 PM
I ran the upgrade ;) and set your cookies. You had overwrote your config file with a newer one and did not have any variables to import
