You have selected ImageMagick as your graphics integration, but PhotoPost cannot find MOGRIFY at that location. You need to figure out the path to the executible mogrify and specify that during installation.

I cant find the executible anywhere can anyone help really need the gallery up as alot of members moaning :(

Did you ask your host if they have mogrify on the server and where?
You can try setting in Admin => Global Options the image processor to GD2 and use that for uploads.
July 9th, 2006, 06:15 AM
GD2 now selected :) that seems to be ok
now i get this
Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/fhlinux185/s/street-stylers-southwest.co.uk/user/htdocs/gallery/install.php on line 547
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost MySQL server. [host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]. Check your config-inc.php for the correct settings and rerun.

Make sure on install you are inputting the correct mysql information to make a connection to mysql on your server.
Have you setup a mysql database and mysql user? this is the info you would use in the config.

hmm problem being i dont know much about this at all lol
July 10th, 2006, 06:50 AM
Well contact your host ;) and they may be able to assist. Normally you setup mysql databases and username password within your control panel of the server.
July 10th, 2006, 06:28 PM
right i have setup a database and have a user and pass for it.... now whats the step :)
thanks for your help btw

You would run your install.php script and input all the correct variables and answer the questions. The install instructions are posted here

right database is now working.
How do i get the images from the old installation onto the new one?
July 11th, 2006, 08:34 AM
You would have upgraded your old database instead of doing a new install if you wanted to do an upgrade. Looks to me like you did a new install.
Thus you need to upgrade your old database to properly use old photos etc
July 11th, 2006, 09:33 AM
is there anyway i can reverse this? so i can upgrade instead
July 11th, 2006, 10:01 AM
You can upgrade your original install. Therefore install the new files except the config files over your original working Photopost that has all the pictures etc and run upgrade.php and run all necessary upgrades needed.

righty just one more question
how can i get the database so my vbulletin forum users can use the gallery without having to register for the gallery?
July 11th, 2006, 03:03 PM
You would have originally installed the application with vb3 integration. Are you saying your old install is a standalone?
July 11th, 2006, 05:47 PM
im a bit lost.
I created a new mysql database but i want to use the forum database so the forum users dont have to re sign up. Do you know what I mean?
July 11th, 2006, 06:57 PM
Your losing me here. You had a prior install which you want to upgrade but instead you did a new install. You asked me how to get your photos back in this new install and I answered that you would instead upgrade your old install.
I can only assume without anymore info that your old install is a standalone install?
You can post a url here to help see what your doing.

basically i want the database from the forum to be the database the gallery uses. I want every user of the forum to be able to login to the gallery using their forum password.
I would also if anyway possible to be able to get the old pics of the gallery back up. When i go into vbulletin admin cp it still has all the catergories i used to have in my vbgallery panel?
July 12th, 2006, 12:07 PM
was the old install integrated with vbulletin?
If so simply copy the inserts from a backup of the photos table to the new install's photos table in mysql
July 12th, 2006, 12:39 PM
Yeah it was intergrated
Where do i find the photos table to copy the inserts?
Am i right in thinking it will be on the old database?
July 12th, 2006, 01:27 PM
That would be in a backup of the old mysql database
July 12th, 2006, 05:59 PM
Righty getting there i think.
On my forum i created a backup of the sql database. It created the database on my ftp server, which is now on my computer.
Now what are the next steps
July 12th, 2006, 08:29 PM
Use phpmyadmin to place the inserts in the photos table backup into the photos table in the new database ;)
July 13th, 2006, 08:15 AM
Still confused do i copy the whole lot?
July 13th, 2006, 08:49 AM
If you have a backup you would use the sql window within phpmyadmin and copy and paste the insert statements for the photos table from your backup
