Well

I read the features list and checked out the admin panel a bit as well.
I also read some posts here concerning the subject but i'm not sure if it works exactly how i want :D

what i wanted to do is the follwing

let say we would do a site about concerts.
I would create categories like

-Pop/Rock
-Hard Rock/Metal
-Jazz/Blues
-Rap/RNB
-misc

is it possible for a user to create an album within a categorie, off course where ony him can upload the pics?
Lets Say User X went at a Metallica gig and made some photos.
I want him to create a folder/album into the Hard Rock/Metal categorie where he uploads his pics only.

Guess this is possible from what i've understood so far :D

For the album description is there only one field available?
It would be cool if you could have
Band - date - location
for sorting and searching/browsing that would be cool but i have no clue if this works in photopost

thanks for your help guys

If you allow albums for users and allow them to assign them to categories in the admin usergroup permissions yes you can do this.

There are no extra fields assigned to albums currently.

thanks for the quick answer

Can you also force them to assign the album to a categorie?

mmmm that's not so good :(

what happens when they don't create an album?
Do the pics show up in the selected categorie?
If yes, when you have users who do that you have like a mix of pics in the different categories, right?

Yes users will upload to whatever categories you specify and that they have upload permission to. In personal albums when they create an album they can assign it to a category but you can't force them to. Otherwise they appear under the members gallery.

Good luck finding something that will do that.
