View Full Version : Problems uploading videos or audio

I've been having consistent problems uploading any media file larger than 1 meg on my Photo Post site and have since the beginning. Now, months later, after a few successes, I again need to get some large video and audio files to upload, but I'm stuck. Trying to simply upload an mp3 file that is slightly over 1 meg, or any video, regardless of how high I set the limit in the admin control panel, it tries for a few moments, and then goes to an IE error page and never goes through.
If this is just a limitation of the program I would like to know so I can stop trying repeatedly to use this software app & just move my video and audio stuff off the PhotoPost page and on to some sort of a/v links page on my site.

It would be a limitation of your server's PHP and not the software.
I would suggest either you or ask your host to increase settings in your php.ini file.
These are the normal ones to increase to make video's work. Your PHP sounds like it is timing out and stopping on the server.

OK, I checked the php.ini and under the Upload section it reads the following:
; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 12M
Certainly enough to upload a 1.2M file.
The Resource Limits section of php.ini says the following: max_execution_time = 0 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
memory_limit = 32M
Unless there are more php.ini files somewhere on my server that I should be checking, this looks good enough to be allowing me to do what I can't do. Any other ideas?

If it goes to like a 500 error page then PHP is shutting the process down.
What does the php settings say from your admin control panel of photopost?

Here's what it says from the php settings in my admin control panel of photopost:

I just uploaded a 6mb mp3 file to your site

I just tried it again and it starts to upload a file then gives me the IE page that starts with:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
Why am I having this problem?

Honestly I can not say. I just as you saw uploaded a 6mb mp3 with no issues whatsoever.
Try clearing your uploads directory and then continue.

OK, I cleared the upload directory and that enabled me to upload the file I was attempting.
Now, is there a limit as to how large a video file i can upload to photoPost or is this just whatever i set in the php.ini file? I have a few very large files (one is 51MB) I have uploaded to my server that I would like to include in my PhotoPost pages. This seems to have been a limitation previously with this program if I'm not mistaken.
