View Full Version : How can I change PP login to point to phpobb login ?

April 22nd, 2006, 10:52 AM
I have one of my Photopost gallerys integrated with phpbb
The forum isnt as of now nearly as popular as the gallery

If you go to the gallery first and login, there is no check box for "stay logged in" or "remember me" - If you go to phpbb login there is a checkbox to stay logged in ..

So I get emails all the time from people who cant stay logged in to the gallery - I just want to change the PP login link to point to the PHPBB login OR add a remember me option to the PP login

Anyone run into this before ? Have any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Couple points that might help.

1. Make sure to go to the admin of both phpbb and photopost and make sure the cookies are set exactly the same. Make sure the cookie domain is .domain.com on both so it works on every subdomain.

2. Edit your phpbb templates index_body and login_body templates I beleive and make this line here and add the code in bold so it is checked automatically

<td colspan="2"><span class="gen">{L_AUTO_LOGIN}: <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" name="autologin" /></span></td>

I have the cookies the same on both and they apply to the entire domain

The code you posted is in the login body template but not the other

The issue is that when you click login from the PP link

there is NO checkbox at all the phpbb template at least offers the checkbox

That would not be an issue at all though if cookies are set the same in both apps. Your not going to drop the cookie unless they are different between photopost and phpbb as in on different subdomains. This is why I meantion to make sure cookie domain is .domain.com. Our cookies in fact are created for one year which last longer than any forum we integrate with usually. Thus unless you delete the cookie made from Photopost off your computer you should be logged in.

setcookie("{$Globals['cookieprefix']}_data", serialize($sessiondata), $sesstime + 31536000, "{$Globals['cookie_path']}", $Globals['domain_path'] );
setcookie("{$Globals['cookieprefix']}_sid", $session_id, 0, "{$Globals['cookie_path']}", $Globals['domain_path'] );

here is the cookie detail from firefox after logging in to PP

If I login to pp and close the browser I have to log back in next time
If I login to phpbb - I dont have to log back in next time

you can login to the forum using test account user test28 pass test28

Had no problems with login on your site registered a name logged in at the forum and was logged into both apps uploaded a photo. Logged out and logged in at the gallery and was logged into both apps and uploaded another photo
