Few things please.
What are your plans for Classifieds ?
- Forum integration: If so what forum and Ver., shared DB or 2DB's ?
March 22nd, 2006, 10:25 AM
Integrating with Vbulletin 3.5.4
March 22nd, 2006, 10:38 AM
wanting to share the member database. Using current forum members

Make sure in the config section of install you are placing the proper variables. Your host is not correct for mysql
March 22nd, 2006, 11:06 AM
hmmmm...It runs the zip and installs everything in the database...so wouldn't that mean that the host is correct being that it created the tables?
i got lost on the config-inc.php needing to be 777? So I didn't change any of that because I don't know how.
Would that have anything to do with it?
March 22nd, 2006, 11:17 AM
You config needs to be 666
Here are the install instructions
Your members database info is what I see is incorrect not the photopost info.
March 22nd, 2006, 11:30 AM
Sorry for sounding stupid but where do I go to change that setting?
I printed off the directions and following them step by step.
Your instructions say:
All permissions for .php and .sql files should be set to chmod 644, except for config-inc.php and config-int.php which need to be 777 for the install script to update it. In your stylesheets and templates directory you will need to change the files .css and .tmpl to also have write permissions so any modifications done through the admin can be updated.
I do not see anything there that says 666. Are you talking about the ppclassified config file or the vbulletin config ??
March 22nd, 2006, 12:19 PM
On install first thing you enter is the database info for classifieds and then the database info for vbulletin in your case. The error you get in your first post on install tells me the database info is incorrect for vb
March 22nd, 2006, 12:24 PM
User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum)
Is this what you are referring to?
I am integrating with a third party forum.....
I am and can use the same MySql database that my forum is running on correct?
March 22nd, 2006, 12:41 PM
Yes you can but whatever you enter needs to be accurate.
Your telling us you get this error
I cannot connect to the Members database.
That tells me the mysql info for the user database is incorrect.
March 22nd, 2006, 12:46 PM
Let me get this straight.
If I am installing to the same database my forum is running on, and it connects and writes to the data base up to the part where it asks for integration...
I am giving it the wrong mysql info??
Well then how does it connect and write everything else?

Can someone here help or not? I have been working on this since 8 this morning. I can use some help.
Maybe be just a little more specific if you don't mind.
I had no problem installing the vbulletin and the adsnew...
This however is NOT an easy integration.
March 22nd, 2006, 01:10 PM
You have not entered anything under the user database settings when your installing it is empty.
If you are installing in the same database as the forum enter that database info in the user database part
March 22nd, 2006, 01:31 PM
OK Chuck...i got it installed...I choose to run the VB3 headers on the config page...I now get this:
Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/content/t/r/a/trailertalk1/html/pp-classifieds/header-inc.php on line 60
Warning: main(./global.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/t/r/a/trailertalk1/html/pp-classifieds/header-inc.php on line 61
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/t/r/a/trailertalk1/html/pp-classifieds/header-inc.php on line 61

On the last step of install your asked the forum server path and this was entered incorrectly
You can edit the file config-int.php and correct the $vbpath variable to your correct server path of vb
March 22nd, 2006, 01:39 PM
config-int.php or config-intc.php?
March 22nd, 2006, 01:41 PM
you have classifieds config-intc.php
March 22nd, 2006, 01:43 PM
ok...thanks for the help...
i am just unsure what it should be. on my server my vb is on the parent directory...straight at www.horsetrailertalk.com
Should it have that long string? or just www.horsetrailertalk.com??
March 22nd, 2006, 02:03 PM
No this is server path not url
Look at your $ppath variable and try entering that on the $vbpath line minus of course the photopost directory ;)
March 22nd, 2006, 02:13 PM
Chuck...you da man....
I could kiss you right on the mouth!
Everything looks good so far!
Thanks for bearing with me. That was a ton of work!!
March 22nd, 2006, 02:18 PM
