Okay, in the Admin section I have specified that I want to allow GIF and JPG formats. JPG uploads fine, but when I try a GIF I get this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 120

Now I am getting this error when uploading large files:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8960 bytes) in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 84
I checked my PHP settings and the max upload is 2MB, but this image is only 600KB. I checked in the Admin settings for PhotoPost and the Max Multimedia Upload size is set at 16000KB.

Have you verified your gd is 2.028 or higher which allows gif images? Looks to me like your running one that is not gif compatible.
Here is instructions on how to install Imagemagick on your server should you have the ability to do that.
