I like the gallery, but would also like to have it as my media center.

So I'd use the gallery, along with playing my media files. I am not able to see what the inline media player hack looks like.

Is it possible to see what the player looks like when it's added to the gallery?

Also, does the player download automatically when you go to that page, or doe it wait until you hit the play button? Some players start downloading right off the bat.

I'd love to grab this, but I'm not 100% this would be what I'm looking for, until I can see the media player shots. :D

If anyone could post some shots of what that hack does, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

It plays as soon as you go to the page... It just looks like a mini-player embedded in the page, with a link below it to download the video if you like.

Man, not sure I like that then.

It seems like a bandwidth hog, if it downloads everytime you visit the page. hmm..

Not sure I like that if it isn't dependent on hitting play... :(

So don't install that hack, then they just click to download/view it. :)

Yeah good point. It should auto open in their media player correct?

Not sure I like that if it isn't dependent on hitting play... :(Correct, for large sites it could be a bandwidth killer. However, if you're talking about the hack that I did here a while ago I'm pretty sure it can be changed to not auto-play on load.

Bump this thread later tonight when I'm back home and I'll check it out.

Ok thanks. I just don't want to have run into loading problems as well, for people who have slower connections. If it starts downloading, and not playing, it's still eating up bandwidth. So hopefully it doesn't download on the page load as well!

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!I'll have to experiment a bit. I know that the code I did the hack with is using an embedded object tag and that the code can be fine tuned to not auto-play upon page load. But I don't know as to whether or not the file still ends up coming down the stream first as part of the page load.

At least for IE I know there are a few other methods of doing it but I'm not sure about a universal method that would work across the board with Safari, Netscape, FireFox, etc, etc.....
