View Full Version : Upgrading

Hey everyone, quick question.
I am updating from 3.0.3 to 3.0.7 and of course the gallery system will need to be re-installed. I have the first version of it so I am going to update that as well. My question is after I place all the new files on my server, do I do a fresh install or an upgrade? Or should I select uninstall and then re-install? I attempted to do an upgrade, however, it would not work???
Your help is appreciated!!

If you uninstall, you lose all your images. Upgrade your VB and when that is done upgrade your gallery. While you are at it you might as well upgrade the CMPS

I did attempt to upgrade the gallery, I wonder if I should upgrade the gallery and the CMPS first and then update the vbulletin??

then you will just have to do all your edits all over again. When I upgraded I did vBulletin first, then ugraded my CPMS and finally upgraded my gallery.

Hmmm and you just did upgrades?? Hmmm that is odd...I am restoring everything now, I am going to try something different.
Like I said, when I attempted to "update" my CMPS it came back with an error, so I did an un-install and re-installed it and that seemed to work (granted I did lose all my custom modules)
Like I said, I wonder if I should upgrade them first, and then upgrade vbulletin...After that, I know I need to re-install the templates in the CMPS

You could upgrade the CMPS and then the Gallery. Once that is complete, you could then upgrade vb. Either way it should work.

What exactly was the problem when you tried to upgrade? And what error messages were you receiving?
