now I have a mpg file and it's definately smaller than the 5MB filesize restriction and at 100% it's definately smaller than the width being 1000 and height being 1000 -- but yet it still gives me the error that the file is too large for 1000 x 1000 -- anyone else have this problem??
Thanks in advance!!

I somewhat doubt that getimagesize() can detect the dimensions of a mpg file ...

Kirby's right, the dimensions most likely aren't the problem. How big exactly is the file? Most servers are set to the default of a 2mb PHP upload limit, not 5.

right the video is actually 502k

To rule out whether it's your PHP or not, try uploading the file directly to your server via FTP and then bringing it in from there.

I wouldn't *think* that it's the PHP limit if it's giving that error. What happens if you increase the dimensions to something like 10,000 x 10,000?

I set it at 100,000 x 100,000 and it went up -- what's the deal with that? any ideas?? even though the full size 100% view of the file itself can't be more than like 250x250

The default dimensions of the video may be over 1,000 x 1,000 then. Does it show the dimensions with the video after the upload?

yeah it says 1 x 7457 -- that's odd no?
