I got as far in the installation as getting this message:
... Testing MOGRIFY at: /usr/bin/mogrify.... OK, found the file!
The next step will configure your database.
As I undertand it, with the paid service and ImageMagick found, you only need ftp (not shell) to finish the install? MySQL and PHP are all set as well. -- Dan

Right but why could you not finish the install

The answer is database issues which are a little above my skill set. Having problems with the config-inc.php file, knowing what to put in there based on the database I created at my hosting company: I get his error in step three:We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
Could not connect to or create the PhotoPost database.
Be sure your user has permissions to CREATE or create a blank table before hitting REFRESH or go back to Step 1 to check your database settings.
If you have corrected the error, you may hit GO BACK and try again.Indeed I was able to create a blank table in my new database using PHPMyAdmin so I am missing an element that I just can't see right now.
BTW, I do have shell access if needed. They told me to use a thing called “putty” if needed.

Okay thats fine ftp/ssh and control panel sign in should suffice
All I can suggest if you try to complete the install is to check all the database info otherwise I will sort it out when we install

alot of users I think find the problem common, cos you have NO Rights to Make a new Database.
so you must check what is the DATABASE NAME of your Server and logins
Normally, this will similar to your PHPBB forum or SMF.
