View Full Version : Post Ad link missing(FIXED)
July 7th, 2005, 08:00 AM
Hello, finally got the latest build of classifieds up and running. I've got all my permissions set. Here's the problem.
Logged in as Admin: I can post an ad
Logged is as Registered: I cannot post an ad, the link to "post ad" is not there.
Also, no matter what I'm logged in as, there is also no link to post comments although turned on in the control panel.

Did you check the Edit Usergroup permissions to be sure that registered users are set to post ads?
July 7th, 2005, 08:12 AM
Yes, I'm certain I've got them correct...

All is on in Admin settings too :)

Can you attach what the entries in your database usergroups table look like?

Will Do :)

I have the same issue detailed in the "minor issue" thread below.
The usergroups are set correct (see screendump).
Categories I have two main categories set to "no adds" to act as a header.
Underneath I have preferences set so that unregistered users, coppa, and awaiting confirmation cant post (I'll attach a second dump below) so its a mystery.
Admin has the post an add link, all other users dont see it. I logged in as a test user and if I make it admin its fine. Take it back to anything other (even supermod) and the post logo is gone.
I also havent seen the comments link, although this is the first time I've uploaded your software so possibly its somewhere I havent looked yet.

Screendump of the categories setup. This is the same for all categories.
These are all set to "contains adds = YES", and assigned a parent category.
In both cases the parent categories are set "contains adds = NO". Permissions are identical to the categories below.
I have two admins and both can see the post link. None of my registered users can see it :confused:
As a side note if I try to "refresh usergroups from your forum software" it displays the message Usergroups called improperly! This isnt something that concerns me as I've set the groups up manually, but just letting you know.

Line 269 of vb3.php we need to initialize those variables.
Add the ones in bold
global $up_k, $disk_k, $useruploads, $usercomment, $cedit;

Seems to be one little bug left. When posting a comment, the font and font size are missing (message1.jpg).
After manually setting the font and size (message2.jpg) I hit submit and I get an error: "you did not fill in all the required fields" (message3.jpg)

I am confused now.
Do these bugs above happen just for a forum integrated installation or also for the classifieds internal registration installation?
July 8th, 2005, 03:43 PM
Mine is integrated with vb3. I would guess the stand alone install works just fine as most of my issues relate to pulling info from the vb databases.

MIne is VB3 integrated also.
Going through previous posts its pretty clear that VBulletin Integration is the biggest headche for the developers.

Did you have to do anything special to get your WSYIG editor working? I have mine turned on in the integration options but noticed it doesnt work in the classifieds.

To ensure proper support please start a new topic for each problem instead of trailing on threads of other fixed issues. I am just now seeing this new thing and it will take time to look into this issue.

No worries. Apologies Chuck.
July 8th, 2005, 09:46 PM
No need to apologize ;) Just making sure everyone knows so that we try and give you the best support possible and dont miss anything to make sure each topic is clearly posted and not muddled in with another.

//------------------------------------- vB3 -----------------------------------------//
// VB3_INTEGRATION is for using vB3 headers/footers and styles
// VB3_ENHANCEDINT is for Enhanced vB3 Integration (using vB3 elements in Classifieds)
// requires that VB3_INTEGRATION also be set to 'on'
// VB3_COMMWYSIWYG is for turning on the WYSIWYG interface on the Post A Comment page
// if you set this to 'off' then only the standard input box will appear
// Set to 'on' to enable specific integrations

my wysiwyg editor works as well. Take note this must be turned on in vb config and ours as well to work.
July 9th, 2005, 08:13 PM
Hmmmm...ok. I have it turned on in both but I'll check the settings in PHP myadmin just in case.
