Group,

Does anyone know if photo post will do first frame thumbnails of video attachments?

This is where when you upload a video clip regardless of what format it is, the thumbnail feature that is used with photos would take the first frame within the attached video and display that frame as a thumbnail for the video.

Does anyone know if photo post will do this? and if it wont, is there anyone here that is willing to write the code to get it to do this?

I know this can be done as I have seen this before in the past but I just dont know if photo post is capable of handling this task.

This is a feature that I really would like to see added to photo post and I am willing to pay to get it if the price is within my budget.

Looking forward to hearing back from anyone about this.

Thank you for your time.

Doug

Hello

We do not currently pull thumbnails off of frames in a video upload. I know we are looking at ways of achieving this but this is not a capability of our product presently

Understand on the not currently able to do this.

But do you guys have plans or intentions on coming out with this feature in the future if you can figure out how to get photo post to do this?

And if so, where are you guys at in the development of this feature, what have you discovered so far, and do you have any idea how long it would be before even a beta version of this feature would be available?

Just curious for a rough idea, im not looking for any promises or commitments.

Just wondering where your developement currently stands is all.

Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated.

Hello

As I stated we are looking at ways to do this but it is not an easy thing to accomplish.

GEESH !!!

I am so sorry for asking how the progress was going. Please forgive me for even asking. Sometimes I dont even know why I bother.

People are so touchy.

Doug, i can understand your frustration really, i believe the first product to pull this off successfully had never ending problems, i.e videos with different codecs, videos with a blank (black) first frame etc, i think as technologies in this area progress photopost would be the first to achieve this feature for the benefit of all concerned, just keep em peeled! - if you have any links or know of any other online applications which can achieve this feature please do share, cheers
