Don't know why some pictures are only showing up as half? Thumbnail looks fine...
March 26th, 2005, 09:03 AM
I registered a name and posted an image with no trouble
March 26th, 2005, 12:57 PM
Me too but why are some only coming out half a picture? Same picture has been tried several times. Could the picture be to big to start with?
March 26th, 2005, 01:18 PM
You could be right there who knows. You can email me the picture and I can try uploading it
March 26th, 2005, 01:20 PM
I don't have it, it is a member having trouble...
March 28th, 2005, 01:10 AM
It's still happening! What can I do to resolve this? Members are uploading pictures and they are half blacked out?
March 28th, 2005, 09:45 AM
If your using GD try finding out if you have imagemagick installed and switch to that?
Has your host upgraded anything lately?
I can upload rather large files to your install fine
so I am at a loss for suggestions to give you. If you cant give me one of there files to try I dont know what to do.
March 28th, 2005, 01:58 PM
It's already set to Imagemagic...
March 28th, 2005, 02:00 PM
If it werer one picture or one person I'd try to track down a picture. But as of now many members are just posting to webshots or? because it works and they say is faster. I have not had a problem but to date approx 15 other people have?
March 28th, 2005, 03:46 PM
No Idea I would need one of there pictures to try.
I seem to be able to upload fine with what you give me for access
March 29th, 2005, 12:07 PM
Still waiting to get one of the effected pictures. I have tried this before with an effected picture and it worked fine for me. I rested blame on being a very large picture on dial up, but now we have 1500 pixel wide picture doing the same thing on DSL ?
March 29th, 2005, 02:03 PM
I have yet to be able to reproduce it have you?
March 29th, 2005, 06:11 PM
No, but differant members with differant pictures on differant ISP's, 56k and dsl have?
April 2nd, 2005, 11:51 AM
Hi chuck, I e-mailed you two of the offending photos.
The member tried again with the same results. I tried and the picture was again cut in half?
These pictures are big at 2032 pixels wide. They are also run through Kodak easy share.
Hope that helps!

Still haveing problems with half a picture! I've tried all that you have offered. as you said remove jpegtran. Now I get a ERROR.
So once again PhotoPost dosent work at all and I have to figure out how to undo what you've asked! I Don't have time to troubleshoot your product anymore.
Problem running JPEGTRAN:
"/home/justinternationals/imagemagick/bin" -copy none /home2/www/justinternationals/gallery/data/500/1100_2819.JPG
Error Code: 126
Please fix what ever is wrong. I did not have time to get into beta teating a product. I paid you to install it. It has never worked properly. I have also followed all your suggestions to fix your product and installation. I have even involved our members in trouble shooting this situation. We have found pictures and can duplacate this error.
Now will you and your company please become involved in fixing this situation? And I don't mean by guessing my server needs updating! My server says your product needs updating!
Here are more examples of half pictures.

Here is what I see. Your Photopost was installed by us in January. It worked fine for a couple months and now you say you have problems uploading pictures which suggests something changed.
When we suggest you remove jpegtran to test something it means remove completely. Your error above is you just removed the jpegtran off the end of the jpegtran command which still tells the program jpegtran still is there so lets run it
. The whole jpegtrran line just be removed in the global options
So either remove that whole line or place jpegtran back on that line. I will try uploading about 10 more pictures and they surely will upload fine so the issue remains whats special about these certain pics that have this issue.

Always have had problems with some pictures being cut in half!
Have always reported those problems.
Even found one of the pictures, sent it to you, found the software used.
If it were one person, I'd say they had a problem, but we have seven people at last count with the problem.
April 18th, 2005, 06:54 PM
I removed the entire jpegtran line. PhotoPost now works, but the same pictures still get cut in half, I just did them again,
April 18th, 2005, 06:56 PM
All I can go by is what you report and tell us.
Your software was installed 3 months ago. You first posted on this forum about 3 weeks ago.
I do not beleive the issue is with the our specific software. I can upload to your gallery fine here
I beleive the issue is with what is special about these pictures that may be failing the image processor. If you switch to GD2 from ImageMagick does this happen. These are the types of things to test. The image I beleive you sent me was half an image
April 18th, 2005, 07:01 PM
First reports were e-mail.
Just tried GD1 gd2 and imagemagic without jpegtran still the same. Half a picture.
I will e-mail you again one of the pictures in full that gets cut in half when uploded. It is to big to attach here.

I have posted on our forums to find out which cameras or software is being used to see if it is common.
April 19th, 2005, 12:25 PM
Here is a thread with several differant combinations.
April 19th, 2005, 12:29 PM
Okay what happens if the guy who resizes with photoshop does not use it? Just upload the pic straight from the camera
I use a coolpix 9500 with no issues
April 19th, 2005, 12:33 PM
I don't know! You welcome to ask him. But I use photoshop with no problems...
April 19th, 2005, 01:29 PM
Interesting I prefer to stay in this thread though.
Email some of the pics that have an issue
April 19th, 2005, 01:44 PM
You don't have to be part of the thread but it is a place that is gathering information on the images that get cut in half. As we can see it's not limited to the one Kodak that you beleieved was causing the problem.
I only have two origanal pictures and I have sent them to you.
April 19th, 2005, 01:49 PM
I never said a Kodak. I said the specific image
There may be something in the newer camera and images that is killing the image processors on your server.
We are grabbing at straws here since I can upload fine to your install and you can do. It is certain images which suggests something about those specific images.
Thing is to find the specific common denominator. I have uploaded 900KB images fine to your install as well as small ones.
The thing here is no one has reported this ever so its new ground here.
April 19th, 2005, 01:55 PM
I understand this is a new problem and we have many people ehlping with many differant cameras, software. But I do have two photos from a member that will not upload for me or him! they are .jpeg I have sent them to you, would you like them again?
April 25th, 2005, 08:47 PM
Been awhile wonder if you have found the problem with this?
April 26th, 2005, 08:47 AM
Okay well one of your users emailed me a bunch of pix's
Every last one except for the two straight from the digital camera uploaded fine on your install. Here is an example of one that did not upload right
However on my install and several others it uploaded fine
Given that scenerio the issue would lie in the processor which is failing on these camera uploads for whichever reason. If you PM me SSH I can see about checking out your imagemagick install
I serious doubt this is a photopost issue as in our software here because I can upload that picture that fails on your system everywhere else just fine.
April 26th, 2005, 12:03 PM
If you PM me SSH I can see about checking out your imagemagick install
This is progress! :D
What is a SSH ?
April 26th, 2005, 01:26 PM
PM me your site access ftp is the same as ssh on your site if I remember
January 30th, 2006, 12:25 AM

January 30th, 2006, 09:43 AM

January 30th, 2006, 11:13 AM
