Hey, can anybody link me to an example of PhotoPost running as a photography portfolio and not a user submitted gallery? Thanks, I'm after a piece of software for my personal domain which I'll be using to exhibition my amateur photography, I don't want to allow user submitted uploads though, but I would want people to be able to leave comments, as far as I know PhotoPost can do this for me, I'd just be interested to see if anyone else has successfully achieved it.

Thanks

Jon

I dont know of any personal sites to link for you however to achieve this is quite simple

Since Photopost is controlled by usergroup and category permissions you would simply set unregistered or registered users the ability to comment on photos but only the admin usergroup the permission to upload photos.

I am a professional photographer and use PhotoPost on several sites to promote my work.

http://www.extremefitness.com/gallery/index.php is a gallery I am using to promote my photography from bodybuilding shows. I allow user comments, but no uploading.

http://www.michaelpierce.com/gallery/index.php is my personal site that I use to share my photos with my friends and family; user uploads/comments and registration is not allowed.

http://www.extremebikini.com/thegirls/index.php contains my photography work, although an older version of PP, does not allow user uploads/comments or registrations. (Reminds me, I really need to upgrade that site!)

CIAMAN: I think this is maybe what your wanting to create.
Gallery (http://www.seymourauctions.com/gallery/index.php)

I too want to do the same but I am have a bit of a time figuring out the Interface to make the neccessary changes. A lot of the options are very clear but there are a lot that I can't seem to find option instructions on as well.

The instructions offered at Option Insturctions (http://www.photopost.com/manual/admin_options.html) dont seem to cover all the options that are offered. This leaves me trying to compare my index page with option page but not getting all the answers.

Michael P has a great thread about all the option features but again the Instructions seem to alude me. Option Features (http://www.photopost.com/members/forum/showthread.php?t=109343)

Works great as a controlled participation gallery (in my case, we only allow uploads from my husband and myself) -- http://www.OutdoorPhoto.com/

Bear in mind a fair amount of modding has gone into what you see on the site, but the basic functionality you're asking about (limiting uploads to just one person) is built-in to Photopost Pro and has been for quite some time.
