Have a question, I am useing a watermark on my pp pics, I have noticed that the pics will not show inline anywhere just as a link. Do I have something set wrong or is that how they work for some reason?

I don't think we are on the same page :D, I would like to have it so others can display their pics "inline" (is that the right term) on other sites such as this without someone having to click a link.

You cant with a script

THIS IS A NO NO

THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY

A image link always needs to be the url to the exact file in an image tag. It can not be a script link where the url is masked

The only way you can use the link you posted is in a true <img> html tag like we do in Photopost but most all forums prevent html from being posted

Ah, OK I was afraid of that, I might not use it then, seems everyone likes to have the ability to display pics else where even though they are bandwidth killers for us webmasters. I wonder how cardomain.com does it, I see their watermarked pics all over the place?

In forums if they have watermarked pics in BB img tags then they are using permanent watermarking which means the watermark is on the photo always so you use the direct image link like I posted above

Thanks for the info, so whats all involved in doing permanent watermarking?

Turn off on the fly watermarking and then fill out the watermarking options in admin setting watermarking to yes and fill in path to watermark file

set in category permissions which files are watermarked per usergroup

OK, after looking closer, it seems only a few have the watermark, I did check my usergroup categories and all usergroups are selected to receive the watermark, anything else I need to check?

OK, I used a work around to fix this, it seems that all but one category applied the watermark. When I checked that cat the permissions where correct, but when I went to the directory the pics where stored in sub directories where none of the other dir that worked did. So I created a new categorie and simply moved the pics over to the new cat and then deleted the old cat and now they work. Not sure why that "one" category was messed up like that but every thing works correct now. :D
