View Full Version : Resizing/Thumbs and Currency
October 5th, 2004, 04:50 PM
i have two problems:
1. Images won't get resized when uploading. I've setup 250px as maxsize (standard) and that's the result:
ImageMagick runs fine on the server and works well with photopost so this should not be the problem
2. I want to have Euro (€) as the currency and we devide the cents by comma (,) and not by a point (.). Can i switch this so the price-field will accept a comma as devider.
One more thin: is there a chance for spiderfriendly url's with classifieds like in photopost - i like it and i'm sure google will like it too :)

no idea from the support?

1. The link you provided me requires a password, so I could not see it.
2. Right now the currency is not an option (will be in 2.0). The templates would have to be modified to reflect your changes (will research number_format to see about ,'s).

please use "secret" as login an "erik" as password. it's just for the users.

I get connection refused when accessing your site

server is up and running - shouldn't be any problem. Just retry a minute later if it doesn't work. Server is under heavy load :(

You need to PM an admin login to see how you have things set.
October 8th, 2004, 05:51 PM
could you find anything? i sent you the login data for adminlogin

two things your upload path was wrong and second your imagemagick installation you is not working
On GD everything works fine
October 9th, 2004, 01:48 PM
the image-magick thing is kinda strange just because it works fine on photopost... same server, same account, same vb3-integration
October 9th, 2004, 02:42 PM
Well then go back check all paths to imagemagick and the uploads and data directories as well as check permissions.
Still though if the account your trying to use Mogrify from does not have access to that server path of mogrify then you will not be able to use mogrify so keep that in mind when checking permissions
October 9th, 2004, 02:46 PM
it's the same account than photopost is on. So there shouldn't be a problem. I'll recheck paths and permissions for uploads and data - already checked path to mogrify and didn't se any mistakes.
October 9th, 2004, 02:48 PM
Well the biggest problem is your path to MOGRIFY WAS WRONG
You used /usr/bin/mogrify
it is /usr/local/bin/mogrify
October 9th, 2004, 02:55 PM
okay is just checked everything - there is now problem visible. I switched to IM again and there's still no resizing of the thumbnail. When trying to rotate the pic i get:
Error creating resized original! Error code: 218
There's one other thing. The path to unzip-binary won't be safed. Its empty again after saving.
/data and /uploads both have 777 permission - i can't imagine any more problems with the setup... :S
October 9th, 2004, 02:56 PM
that's what i got from the shell :S
October 9th, 2004, 02:58 PM
....but you're right. thanks a lot.
But i still have a problem with the number_format change for the currency-problem up there on the first postings.
Can you tell mehr where to change the parameters of the number_format. Think i have to search for hours :S
October 9th, 2004, 03:11 PM
Nothing you can do about the number_format. That is an internal PHP function.
If you want to try and write up your own function you can discuss this on the hack site http://www.photopostdev.com
October 9th, 2004, 03:14 PM
i know that it's an internal function - but isn't it possible to change it's parameter like it's described on http://www.php.net/number_format ?
All i want is for my users to make it possible to enter 11,30 instead of 11.30 into the form and display it as 11,30€ instead of $11.30
October 9th, 2004, 03:21 PM
Have you tried making line 319 of showproduct.php this
if ( $askprice > 0 ) $askprice = "€" . number_format($askprice, 2, ',', '');
October 9th, 2004, 03:30 PM
not yet cause i didn't know :)
ok the display i just nice - it's now "€2359,00" instead of "2359,00€" but that wouldn't be the biggest problem.
One problem still not working is the input of the price. I enter "23,59" and it's "2359,00" then. It only works when i enter 23.59... is there a solution
@omegatron: THanks for your big help
