View Full Version : Increase allowed ZIP filesize
August 8th, 2004, 02:49 PM
I see the max limit filesize for zip bulk uploads is set to 2MB. I browsed through the posts here back to 2002 and only found a post where a guy said its PHP which sets this limit.
Is this correct? I want to set this limit to 15MB as almost all our users will take advantage of the great zip upload function.
In any case, there to change? Any?

You need to edit your php.ini file however not every user can. Only users on VDS accounts and Private servers usually have access to this. Regular host accounts do not.

Well, I am in a happy position to have the sysadmin as a great friend so for me it wont be a problem. Thanks for the confirmation.

Note below that I up'd the Max upload file size to 5M. I then check the max upload size in PP and it still shows 2M. (ZIP file uploads allowed (2MB limit). )
What else should I do?
; File Uploads ;
file_uploads = On ; Whether to allow HTTP file uploads
;upload_tmp_dir = ; temporary directory for HTTP uploaded files (will use system default if not specified)
upload_max_filesize = 5M ; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files

Have you restarted Apache?

Yes I did. The file I revised was /usr/loca/lib/php.ini
Unless there apache is using another php.ini file. I have limited experience with Linux/Apache.

I believe that is a text item in the language file; not an indication of the actual upload size.
line 24 in languages/english/uploadphoto.php:
$Globals['pp_lang']['zips'] = "ZIP file uploads allowed (2MB limit).";
