Well considering profile links there are matters that need to be considered and a reason why PhotoPost has its own profile.I can go into this in some depth here. We offer two galleries PhotoPost Pro which has a wealth of time tested options and features that users want and love. Our gallery while it supports integration with 20 different forum or cms products that brings its own limitations. We also offer vbGallery which is completely written to integrate with vbulletin. This is done through plugins and files and may offer a better integration with the vbulletin framework since it was written for that. It however does not have all the features that Pro offers.
So that brings us to the limitations of Pro in some regards which might not offer certain aspects that vbgallery does. Our application is a standalone application which has to integrate with 20 different forums. For instance in vbulletin it does not even know Pro exists. So offering the forum profile link to users would create a bug in affect. The Pro profile link is where a user would be shown and able to moderate there subscriptions notifications aspects like that. This would not be shown on the forum.
Now I went a step further in vbulletin 4 and I offer users a set of plugins to show Pro content on the forum so it does replicate our gallery user stuff into the forum profile. However this is a mod I created and personally released it would still require users to modify there PhotoPost Pro files the profile links. I beleive I even posted what changes would need to be made.
The Company itself does not support any mods users have made. To support what you want the only way I see is to properly check your
vb database to see if the photopost plugin mod is installed and then changes I have discussed would require one more query on any page that accesses a profile link to see if the plugin exists to allow us to convert the links to the forum. The overall products has to remain compatible with all our forum types. The company is not going divert the profile link to the forum automatically without an absolute check thus preventing users from being able to administer there gallery content. We throw ideas back and forth all the time but I can tell you it is endless work improving our product and also trying to support 20 different applications and remain compatible with all our options. Right now I am working on the templating for the new PP8 trying to incorporate alot of work Michael has done into the templates we have right now that support various forum integrations which require alternate template sets.
