The templates issue as you call it is not an issue.
vbulletin templates still have a few tables in them its not totally tableless. We basically wrote up a set of templates compatible with the vb4 look and feel. We never have used the
vb template system and have always had our own. They are xhtml valid always have been even when
vb never cared about xhtml validity.
We had a slim 6 weeks to work up compatible versions for the products that doesnt include time to redo templates to a fully non table free design. Not to say that might not be an option in the future. If you look at our categories table you see thats completely table free. I did do that one.
The new template system is the main reason you dont see vbGallery supporting vb4 yet. 6 weeks is simply not enough time to write a completely new template set etc.
vb has been working on vb4 for well over a year and beta program was only active for 6 weeks before releasing it as gold.
If you click register on the photopost menubar and it goes to photopost I would think its not installed correctly but a url would assist in illustrating your issue better.
