I beleive there is another thread I posted on this issue. Have you tried disabling plugins other than vbulletin and vbgallery maybe another hack is your issue?
I have a stock vbgallery installed as a test with vbulletin 3.81 and I do not see any issues try looking here as an example

Is there some other action we are unaware of? Those are links of a user who has no gallery pictures and me who has many.
