Now that I have a site with over 25.000 photos I was planing to start using the contest option for galleries.

I need a few pointers for it..

If I create a category now, Photo of the Year. And a subcat "2008"
Will users have to re-upload photos to that category.

If I wanted to choose the best picture for 2008..
Would it be to late? do photos have to be uploded to that category or can a User simply go in to his album and tag a photo for the contest?

If I am to late would it be adviced to start the best photo of 2009 on the 1 of jan 2009?

I Some pointers would be good.
How do you do it?
