We're making progress....
If I turn "off" the three vb3 integration options, then I can see links instead of a blank page (see
here). [All the vb2 stuff is "off"].
If I turn "on" option #1 (use vb3 headers, footers, styles), everything goes blank again with the error message in my above message.
Any ideas?

ps: I don't have a config-int.php but have a config-intr.php which I assume is OK as the admin area works fine.
