This would normally help but seems to me your memory in php is set to 60mb already you can verify this in admin phpinfo tell me how much memory your php has in memory_limit

Now you can also ftp to your gallery directory and under the UPLOADS directory delete all directories to unclog your unprocessed files then try to upload again.
