Well sorry to say that not every piece of software is going to operate exactly how you wish it to. Thats the nature of the beast in software it might have 99% of everything you want.
There is nothing in the features about the extra fields to be honest. You can search the feature page not one meantion of it to my knowledge.
You would have to go back to January 2005 announcement to see where we add unlimited extra fields

And even then without truly trying out a feature or using our admin demo all one can do is make an assumption it works the way they want it to work which is what you did here. Nowhere do we state there are additional fields for personal albums and you asked and I have informed you of the proper operation of the application.
