Yeah if its localized to one category my suggestion is to ftp to your server and check that specific directory exists and the large and thumbs directories exist and are 777, it would appear to me that thumbs directory does not exist.
Deleting that category and recreating would solve the issue if you cant handle fixing it manually through ftp.
