Is there anything else to that error like a path anything?

In would suggest you ensure in your global options all server paths are correct and then in storage options same thing. If your getting an invalid directory seems to me thats only a partial error but it points to a path being wrong in admin as noted.

Let me know if that does not fix your issue.
