For SWF files the hack already handles that (
example). As for displaying them on your forum home or vBadvanced, though, that's a different matter. I personally do not display anything gallery related on my forum home and for vBadvanced there are a few different modules floating around so it'd really depend on what exactly you would want displayed (eg: thumbnails, the full size item, etc.). In other words... I can help you out with getting them displayed inside of vBGallery itself but I would'nt be of use to you trying to get them on your forum home or inside of a CMPS module/page.
