Thanks for your view on this however I will let others post their thoughts on this one because I think others might have a strong view about this. I remember this being brought up in Photopost Pro which is why all our products work this way.
Basically you are editing a product right well you should go back when done to the very product your editing.
My personal view is this is the correct action and changing this would not make alot of customers happy. About any product I know of whether forum gallery etc if you edit a specific thing when finished you go back to view that thing. Therefore the steps you outlined are correct. I do realize what you want to do changing it might work but thats not how it is suppose to work. My suggest to you is to stop using the user front end to move products and try using the admin area to move products. This might be faster and more to your liking
