Ok forget about the 5.6.2 it is working as you explained above.
5.5 will always show the last public thumbnail, even if the last upload was a private photo. No member ever has a blank thumbnail when browsing the members gallery. It will always show the last public upload. It seems to ignore the private uploads when generating a thumbnail.
Use the user name and password I emailed to you and upload a private photo and see for yourself.

Is there a way to direct 5.6.2 to look at the last member gallery public upload instead of the last upload.
It makes no sense to me to have a blank thumbnail because the member uploaded a private photo. I makes it appear like the member has no gallery because there is not a click-able thumbnail.
He is an example.
The screen name Test has 2 photos. 5.5 & 5.6.2 each have the same 2 photos. The last photo upload in each was private.

5.5 is showing the last public thumbnail uploaded not the last photo uploaded which was private. 5.5 is always looking at the last public photo when generating the thumbnail. Not the last photo upload.
5.6.2 has no thumbnail. It is looking at the last photo which was uploaded which was private.
